Hi, When ringing Sky always ask for a department that has a call centre based in the UK. Generally these are sales departments. Otherwise, you generally get the run around and you can often receive duff information. The sales depts. are able to assist you with your request as much as the general customer services.
If you find yourself in a queue, try pressing *2 . Often this jumps you to the top of the queue. If you call the 0870 2404040 number. Don't select any of the options. This will put you as a priority in the customer service queue.
If you are considering subscribing to Sky, always ask for a deal. Sky always have extra freebies to give away to ensure that they sign you up. At the moment, they will give you 6 months free movies and sports when signing up to any package. But you have to ask!
If you are a returning customer, always tell Sky that your Set Top Box is broken. They will send you a new box free of charge to ensure that they sign you up.
Finally, if you don't want to pay lot's of money, Get a Freeview Card, AKA "FTA Card". (Free to air). They are a one off fee of twenty pounds and you will receive all non-sky channels for 3 years. Sky customer services should advise you of this service and the telephone number to ring, but they don't. Ring 0870 8500033 for the freeview card.
