I got this by a simple search on
http://www.118500.com !
I think the classic mistake that people make is that they forget to select the 'Business' tab. The default is for private people and of course if you put a business in there, it will fail!
but there are still other terms I think. Eg, what does CLI mean?
Thanks for this. The mistake I made was not to fail to use the Business tab but to fail to include spaces between Top and Up and Up and Tv. And since I tried all possible variants of Mgt (who annoyingly fall foul of
www.bt.com/directoryenquiries stupid 4 letter minimum rule of which BT, BBC and ITV also all fall foul) I assumed the worst in this case.
I will give this number a try tomorrow and see what happens but feel sure I will be told to call 0871 etc for their customer services. Of couse it might be more interesting to ask to speak to Ian West or Matt Seaman and see what happens. I believe that David Chance (another TopUpTv Director) sadly does not work full time at the Top Up Tv offices as he is busy with other money making ventures.
Regarding other terms:-
CLI = Calling Line Identity which is the number shown by Caller Display. It is not an 0870 specific issue.
NGN = Non Geographic Number. These are numbers that start 03 to 09 rather than 01 to 02, that generally cost you more money to call, are excluded from BT Option 3 and BT's standard off peak pricing for 01/02 calls. They are the reason that this website had to be created.
CPS = Carrier Pre-Selection. A service provided by Tiscali, Talk Talk, Onetel etc that lets calls on your BT line be routed via their network without having to enter an indirect access code first each time.
Local Call Rate = A non existent call rate no longer in use and abolished by BT on 1st July 2004. However BT still attempts to attribute this term to calls prefixed by 0845 despite Trading Standards believeing that such claims are misleading and illegal.
I can' think of any other jargon we use in particular but if there is something that is confusing you then please let me know.
