A search of BT Directory Enquiries gives the Trowbridge switchboard number as (01225) 895555.

I have just checked the number but unfortunately it doesn't appear to be for customer services. As you mentioned, it is the general switchboard number. I have searched on Google and Ask Jeeves but have drawn a blank. I will keep trying and post any information found. Thanks again and regards

That's correct; it is the switchboard !  But did you ask them to put you through to Customer services ??

I had been using the 01483.... number posted on this web site for the last 6 months and found it unobtainable from the beginning of this week.
I went to the free Virgin internet help line (number found by logging in to the virgin web site, email section). After a long chat to a fairly helpful voice, it appeared that none of the people on that help line knew that there had ever been a non-geographical number.
Obviously there is some scam whereby Virgin takes a cut of 0845 reveue and they have just woken up to some users by-passing that.
Let's hope we can find an alternative before the cost of 0845 calls ruins us.

We were talking about Virgin Mobile, absolutely NOTHING to do with the Virgin.net Dial-up, which is what I assume he is on about.   >:(

BTW, we've had the Head Office switchboard number 01225 895555 in the listings for some time, in case nobody noticed !!

The number 01373 855643 has been entered into the database. It is apparently for overseas callers, although I can't find where it says about it on the VM website.

01373 855646 answers "Hi, we are now longer offering this service" and mentions Virgin Mobile Bites. Perhaps numbers nearby will be the alternative for 0845 6000 789 as it has a menu, whereas 855643 does not.

I have had a tidy up of entries for Virgin Mobile, or "Mobile from Virgin Media" as it now calls itself.

The main mobile customer service number is 0845 600 0789. Its options are:
1. Pay as you go
2. Pay monthly or mobile broadband
3. Talk about digital TV, home broadband or home phone

The same IVR (menu) options can be reached via:

We had listed, as verified, the head office switchboard number 01225 895555. This was the only geographic alternative for mobile customer services and apparently callers would have to ask to be put through as it was main switchboard.

As part of Virgin Mobile's integration into Virgin Media, the Trowbridge office closed in December 2012. The 01225 8955555 number remains active, and answers with the same message as on 01256 752000, which is the number for Virgin Media head office, so perhaps it routes to there.

Further to my posting yesterday, I've removed some unverified numbers are they don't work. I'm posting them here for the record, in case they might be useful in future:

Thanks. As this number is for the Huddersfield Virgin Media Store and as we have a direct alternative for Virgin Mobile, with the same options on, it being 0800 952 2033 I won't list this number.

Oh that is a shame, as it is a normal switchboard with the same menus to choose from, and was free and speedy to access Virgin Mobile or if required Virgin Media.  Can't get much better than that...

It quite clearly answers as being for Virgin Media Huddersfield and is listed in our database as such. It does, as you say, allow access to enquiries relating to a mobile account. The options only start after 45 seconds, 30 of those being taken up by a marketing message.

The purpose of this site is to list alternative numbers which are as near a match as possible. The 0800 952 2033 is a direct alternative to 0845 600 0789 and is therefore more preferrable to others which aren't. Should that stop working then we may have to list a number which isn't exactly the same but which allows access to the same place.
