THEIR WEBSITE (thank you Google) suggests their address is:
Ebuyer (UK) Limited 201 Woodbourn Road Sheffield S9 3LR And www.192.com lists 0114 209 6118 as their fax number (but no voice number whatsoever). |

The unverified list has 0114 2016966, which follows bigjohn's no. Dial this and ask for customer services.

Has anyone got Ebuyers Normal LandLine number. Not the latest 0845 146 1720
They have just moved and not sure if the alternatives to the the 0870 ones work. Thanks Mike |
Title: Re: EBUYER Post by DaveM on Aug 26th, 2005 at 11:09am
Sorry but I'm a little bewildered here !
Have you actually looked in the database on the search page for the Ebuyer number as you have a choice of two to try and I know that they both work fine as I use Ebuyer a lot ! :-/ Your 0845 1461720 is now listed and you could also try searching for previous postings about Ebuyer in the forum. As you are new to the forums, please take the time to read the post at the top of the Geographical Requests forum entitled ** PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING A NUMBER REQUEST ** ::) |
Title: Re: EBUYER Post by DaveM on Aug 26th, 2005 at 12:19pm
According to PriceGrabber, 0845 1461720 is 24hr Sales support. However, Ebuyer advise that it's Customer Support, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm (exc Bank Hols).
Other Google links say that it is often busy & goes to a recorded message then drops you ! I've not tried the 0845 so I can't say. When I call the Geo I am often put in a queue for an advisor but as I don't have to pay for it, I don't really care !! It would seem that the original 0870 number they used (and dropped) has now been replaced by this new 0845. As I stated in the post above, the numbers in the database are still valid. ;D |
Title: Re: EBUYER Post by mikeypr on Aug 26th, 2005 at 9:44pm
Hi Thanks For the reply.
The 0870 number is no more and as they had moved premises, I thought the Non Geo would not work as is was linked the old number, not the 0845. Sorry If I wasted anyones time. :'( Cheers Mike |
Title: Re: EBUYER Post by DaveM on Aug 27th, 2005 at 7:38pm
No problem. It hilited their new Customer service NGN, so thanks for the info. The database has been amended accordingly. :)

Hi - has anyone had any luck contacting Ebuyer customer services via the numbers listed in the database? (I've been trying for days and no luck) although their site suggests the average call wait time is 2mins and longest 7mins .... my calls ring for over 10mins then just get dropped by the carrier.
btw the way numbers I'm trying .... 0114 201 6965 and 6966 Thanks |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by DaveM on Jan 4th, 2006 at 1:23am
Yes I can (as a Valued Customer) advise that the two numbers that you quoted both work properly. There could be a problem of course if nobody is there because it's their holiday, but then again, I'm a cynic. Maybe they're on holiday until today (Wednesday 4th January). If they were there it would probably be busy and you wouldn't be able to get through. Check what the website says about their holiday period.
Try again later on this afternoon & see how you get on. |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by rgoulding on Mar 31st, 2006 at 1:09pm
Hi,
I've tried both geographical numbers and the just ring out. I ring the 0845 and it goes straight to their announcments and queue. These numbers must be wrong. Has anyone got any new ones? |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by DaveM on Apr 7th, 2006 at 4:13pm
I've just had reason to try the CS numbers & found them both ringing out.
0114 2016967 gives access to their internal sysyem if you have an extension number, which I didn't, but I just shotgunned it. I found out that the Warehouse has been moved to Howden, E. Yorks, DN14 7UW (014304) just off the M62, so now they have two separate offices (see this link). Consequently the numbers we have are ringing out as they're no longer in use !! Now we need to start looking for numbers with 01430 4xxxxx. Someone from that area could be useful that may know the premises they've moved to. |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by rgoulding on Apr 13th, 2006 at 10:26am
Using the above number 0114 2016967 and extension 4717 gets you someone in returns!!! Poor bloke is going to be swamped now!!

Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by sgterniebilko on Apr 21st, 2006 at 8:35am
Hi!
Have tried, this morning, all numbers for ebuyer quoted in database without any luck. The 'poor guy in returns' must have gone to the great returns department in the sky as we are now informed that Ext 4717 is an incorrect extension number. It would appear that as far as the telephone is concerned ebuyer have beaten us (rather like SKY TV) and the only way to make contact is via the ONLY email address they offer: orders@ebuyer.com (Don't hold your breath). If you have any other suggestions please let me know. Sgterniebilko |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by rgoulding on Apr 21st, 2006 at 9:29am
I'll tell you what I think...
DON'T USE EBUYER! They're customer support is non-existent. And even when you do get to talk to them, they're equally as useless. Go to www.computerprices.co.uk. I know ebuyer are cheap but there are alternatives! If you're unhappy like me, go to http://www.ebuyersucks.com/ to relieve the stress Ebuyer causes.... |

Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by bbb_uk on Nov 1st, 2006 at 11:01am
The problem being is that they've moved addresses now which means all new geographical numbers.
I therefore doubt we could find alternative numbers without insider help now. Eg, an employee who has to ring their 01 number when calling in sick. If on the other hand, they also have to ring an 0871 number then as well as that means were out of luck it also means Ebuyer are cashing in on calls from their employees when ringing in sick!!! |

FYI! Just had a reply from ebuyer... pure bull ***t
From Kevin Burt: 01/11/2006 03:11 I need to contact you regarding a return but because I am not in the country at the moment I can not call your 0871 number, can you please supply me with a geographical (01/02) number so I can call you about my return. If you do not have a geographical number, can I have your main switchboard number. Thanks Kevin 01/11/2006 08:56 Dear Kevin Burt Thank you for your contact with our Customer Support Team. We currently do not operate a geographical number. You may have to call the UK operator to connect. Please accept our apologies. If there is anything I can assist you with through enotes, I will assign this to myself so you may email me directly. Kind Regards John Ebuyer Customer Support Team ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I HAVE SENT THIS BACK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kevin Burt 01/11/2006 14:51 Everyone has a geographical phone number... Can I have the switchboard number so I can be put through to you? To have a NGN (Non Geographical Number) you need to have a Geographical Number to divert the calls to... I am sorry, but the international operator has tried to connect me but I can not be put through to any number except 01, 02, 077, 078, or 079 Thanks Kevin |

0845 123 1100 I will add this to the DB Soon... Thanks Kev ::EDIT:: Sorry... Didnt realise this number is already in the unconfirmed database... Ive added it again (oops). Anyway It works... lol. |

Title: Ebuyer.com Returns Department Post by LeeUK on Apr 29th, 2008 at 2:55pm
Hi,
Trying to return an LCD TV I bought from Ebuyer.com at the weekend which turns out to have lousy picture and sound quality despite the 5 star customer reviews it had. Filled out the RMA request online and now it's telling me to phone their technical support team on 0870 467 5191 who will be able to review my request fully. I've searched the forum for a geographic number of their returns department but didn't come up with one. The online returns system has given me an address to return the item to once I phone and get the RMA number: Returns Department Ebuyer (UK) Ltd PO Box 222 Howden DN14 7UW I've looked all over the Ebuyer.com website and can only find nasty looking 0872 and 0871 numbers. Thanks. |
Title: Re: Ebuyer.com Returns Department Post by jgxenite on Apr 29th, 2008 at 2:59pm
We have several threads running about ebuyer. We have not yet managed to uncover an alternative (they seem very secretive about it!) You should be able to contact them through the website (they might even do call back if you ask). Absolutely refuse to ring the 087x numbers, and if they won't do call back, insist they give you an alternative.
I'd also recommend shopping elsewhere at suppliers that don't use 08xx numbers. |

Thanks, I'll email them and try and get a ring back. If they refuse I'll just return the TV and contact my credit card.
This was the first time I've used Ebuyer and wont be using them again. |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by jgxenite on Apr 29th, 2008 at 3:07pm
Well, ebuyer can be OK as long as you don't have to ring them! That is the only (fairly major) drawback to buying anything with them - that and the fact they are an internet only business - you can't go into a local store and get help from them.

Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by jrawle on Sep 23rd, 2008 at 10:39am
While I don't like the use of a rip-off 087 number, it has to be remembered that eBuyer is primarily an online shop. They provide an online returns facility, and an eNotes system. I've certainly never had the need to contact them by phone.
There is now also a very busy discussion forum at http://forums.ebuyer.com/ As well as lots of other customers who can give advice, eBuyer staff and others with inside knowledge lurk there too. It's probably more useful than speaking to someone on the phone for many queries. |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by jgxenite on Sep 23rd, 2008 at 10:42am
My opinion on the matter is that if ebuyer was primarily an online company - and therefore didn't want to field calls - they shouldn't be advertising their contact numbers everywhere. The fact that they plainly advertise their 0872 number EVERYWHERE on the site means that they want you to call them, and they want to make the maximum money they can out of that fact.
|
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by jrawle on Sep 23rd, 2008 at 10:49am
That more or less used to be the case with eBuyer some years ago now: no contact number (or at least it was hidden away). I guess people didn't like dealing with a company they seemingly coudn't phone if things went wrong.
If it's possible to avoid the number by using other facilities provided, that's slightly less bad than having an 087 number that it's impossible not to phone, for example contacting City Link to rearrange my eBuyer delivery - that can't be done online! |

Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by Dave on Sep 27th, 2008 at 10:09am
01430 433605 answers "There are x calls ahead of you" and goes into a queue.
433606 says "Welcome to Ebuyer" and then (I assume) goes through to 433605. Whether these are for orders (0872 111 2222) or general enquiries (0871 521 3300) I don't know. |
Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by jgxenite on Sep 27th, 2008 at 10:14am

Hi and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM. I have now removed these two numbers from the database. As I said above, Ebuyer's numbers are 01430 4336xx and 7xx. It is entirely possible that, having become aware that the proper (01430) numbers for general customer services had been compromised following their listing on this website, that they now have moved them to other numbers not in these ranges. |

Baah Humbug Ebuyer getting the Christmas spirit.
Well I must say it annoyed me this morning. Since I had reason to call ebuyer on account of having had to return goods to them that were faulty and them emailing me to tell me they had no stock to send a replacement. Did I want to pay for a call to discuss that?? hmm not really. So i rang 3 numbers in the range for ebuyer. Third time lucky. 01430 433771 - Ebuyer Business 2 Business sales number. Press 4 for customer services. I am registered as a business with them, but have certainly never been given this number and don't have any business account, ie 30 days credit terms, with them. Would be interesting to see how someone gets on with that number if they are registered as a consumer. For returns: 01430 433971 |

One day they will get board of playing this game and accept that some of us will just not accept paying them extra revinue to contact them. To be honest for me it's only when I have need to if there is a fault or issue that's not easily resolved through there email system. I've never thought it fair to make customers liable for call costs when a supplied product is defective or damaged in transit or email correspondance received doesn't make sense. |

Title: Re: Ebuyer Post by idlehanz on Nov 26th, 2009 at 12:00pm
indeed. Internal admin costs. That's why I think eventually they will want to stop playing the game and just accept that some people will always look for an alternative whilst others will accept0870 type number without any question. They will still get some revinue.

Looks like all numbers quoted in the above forum posts have now been changed. You are therefore forced into dialling one of the 0871 numbers in order to contact Ebuyer unless people know of any new numbers that have been issued. If so please post here and update the entries for Ebuyer.

This is Armando Sanchez with Ebuyer I see some of you are trying to speak to me. I've been reading through this post and can see that some of you have gone to a lot of trouble to get hold of us by using a local number. We sincerely do not want to upset our customers for 10p a minute, as we value your business very much.
Because of this I'm looking into this matter as it might be something we will eliminate going forward. We may possibly look into removing the 0871 number from Ebuyer, this may take a few months to look into so please bear with me. In the mean time you can use this number to get through to Ebuyer customer service at a local rate, so your not being bounced around all over the place 01430 433605. Thanks Armando Operations Director Ebuyer |

Thank you Armando,
Strategically, it's probably to your benefit to maintain your 0871xxxx number(s) to keep some revinue streams and not upset the balance of your company so much. As otherwise I'm sure your customers will see the short fall added in small extra margins on products. Equally, I'm sure most of your repeat end user customer, which is a relatively high percentage, are more than used to using eNotes and do use this when necessary. Only choosing to call if something cannot easily be resolved through this route. In the past 10 years buyer habits have change that much, that many people are more reluctant to call, perfering to email. Certainly with in the sub 40years age range. Above 40 years I'd still say that telephone is probably preferable if there's an issue. Anyhow, thank you again. By providing that number you open yourself to more positive feedback, allowing consumers who really do not wish to use 0871 to have a choice. |

The thing to do now would be to publicise the alternative on your website, allowing people the choice to call either the 01 number or the 087x number.

Thanks Armando, your actions have increased my respect for Ebuyer. It's rare that as a company gets bigger its quality of service doesn't degrade, but Ebuyer has shown that it values customers countless times - I can speak from personal experience on this.
As idlehanz pointed out, many younger people tend to prefer email and eNotes as a method of contact instead of telephone. One thing I would like to point out is when you attempt an RMA in most cases you have to call to get it authorised. Incidentally, that's why I'm on here looking for the alternative number ;) Perhaps it would be an idea to offer a landline number for this situation. I know the number is 0845 instead of 0871, and as such will be inclusive on most landline packages and cheaper on others, but my mobile is my main tool for calling and I wouldn't call any 08 number if I can help it. Failing that, a callback service could be used or include RMA's in the eNote system. The former would obviously be expensive and probably not viable, but I seem to remember in the past RMA's used to be authorised online, and I don't think anything is said over the phone that couldn't be dealt with via eNote. |

I saw this in another thread:
Quote:
I actually had a similar experience last year with ebyuer except that it was resolved easily and amicably. Rather like the OP, it was a mis-described monitor which didn't have a DVI input as claimed. I used an e-note to complain, pointing out firmly but politely that this was a mis-description. As the monitor worked very well on its VGA input we agreed a discount, can't remember exact amount, but honour was satisfied. The alternative would have been returning it for refund at their cost so we both won. I got a discount, ebuyer avoided paying for a return and having to resell it as "used". To be fair, I've had occasional problems with ebuyer in the past but they seem to have improved. Shame they still only show 0871/2 numbers on their website, despite Armando's posting. All of us in "sayno" know that 0871/2 numbers are a ripoff and that's why we're here. Some phone providers, notably mobiles, rip you off more than others. |

01430 433605 worked fine for me.
As for ebuyer themselves, I have had no problems with them that haven't been resolved quickley and amicably. Electronic equipment fails. So some people will always be dissapointed. There response now is much improved over that a couple of years ago. As much as I don't want to be tied to one supplier, Ebuyer consistently beat their competition on price and delivery. So I keep going back to them. |

2 years on, and still no mention of a local rate phone number on their site. I have to call them for a fault on my account, and they gladly gave me the premium number in their email. :-/
Keep it up SNT0870! |

This is just to confirm that the number provided by Armando at Ebuyer still worked perfectly today (January 11th 2012) and I got through very quickly to first a call adviser and then a supervisor who explained extremely comprehensively how their various different shipping and delivery choices worked (there is a choice from 1 to 5 days plus a free 5 day delivery option on small packages over £50) and who the courier used (Parcelforce) normally was and whether goods could arrive quicker than 5 days on the 5 day service in practice. My main disappointment is that Ebuyer have not yet moved to showing an 01, 02 or 03 prefixed number as standard in place of their 0871 number as Armando suggested might happen. :'( However I also find it extremely disappointing that Ebuyers marketing personnel currently seem to deliberately abuse the spirit if not the letter of PhonePayPlus's call price disclosure rules for 0871 numbers by not publishing the call cost of the number at the top of their Contact Us page where the large 0871 number is shown and instead hide it at the bottom of the Contact Us page that only customers who scroll down that far will notice. I intend to raise this matter with Phone Pay Plus as a potential breach of the current regulatory requirements. idlehanz wrote on Dec 8th, 2009 at 6:14pm:
As to Idelhanz'c above comments I am afraid I do not agree that these days people do not wish to speak to call centres for advice and in reality they are usually also forced in to calling them because a website's FAQs often does not properly cover their issues (as with my issues on Ebuyers delivery methods) and/or an emailed query is not responded to within a reasonable time frame such as only a few hours. I am afraid that to me Idlehanz sounds like a card carrying apologist for the operators of call centres using 084/7 and especially 0844 and 0871 prefixed numbers all of whom always claim that most customers don't actually want to call them any more as one of their standard excuses for using these numbers. But if that was actually true then why would it be necessary to charge a covert premium rate at all to either put customers off calling or to cover part of the cost of them calling if almost nobody uses the telephone to contact customers services any more ::) I think Idlehanz is quite clearly in reality someone who does not like customers apart apparently from him/herself ringing call centres and who prefers to put them off doing so or charge extra for them doing so but faced with the prospect that a customer might not call at all (especially as this in case a sale might be lost) he perhaps grudgingly has to concede that the geographic alternative number being published on a site like www.saynoto0870.com that only NTS revenue share resistant customers will be aware of is a compromise he/she can live with. |

sorry to dig up this thread again... does not look like it's been commented on for a while now..
while searching for a Hard Drive I looked at ebuyer and noticed they now have (not sure how long they've used it for) an 037 number instead of their 087 number. Just wanted to advise it's: 0371 521 33 00 they have put that it's charged at "local rates" but I am giving them feedback (with Ofcom link) so they can hopefully amend it. :) It would also appear that the database needs updating to reflect this :-) :-) |

Just an additional note..
I contacted ebuyer via Facebook, and congratulated them for FINALLY changing numbers for Home Customer Services, but not yet for Business. I also pointed out that they were advising incorrectly that the 03 number is charged at local rates..... I got the following reply: "thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback for us. Your comments in regards to us changing our customer support number are greatly received and I will pass them across to be reviewed further internally by the relevant department." So lets see what happens... :) |
