Title: 1&1 Internet Post by rubycon on Nov 23rd, 2003 at 5:38pm
Does anyone in here know a way of contacting a real person at this conpany( 1&1 internet)? I recently signed up for webhosting package and had reason to attempt to use their support. It was aweful! I tried to open a dialogue with them about my experience, and that was aweful. These people NEED TO KNOW their customers experience. I could use a direct phone number for anyone at executive officer level at their uk hq, or similarly an email address?
TIA |

Please let me know if you have any luck, Thanks Daniel |

I've been after this one myself. I've tried 01753 490400 and it's out of service.
I suspect 08708 503 305 will translate to 01753 4904??. 01753 490401 Has a recorded message saying that they are away for the Easter break! (Yes I've just called it!) 01753 490402 Is the billing hotline. |

Daniel, The number you gave they have disconnected.
I know it's sad Dave but I carried on from where you started, and got the following (which will probably upset them but who cares !!)

Nice work DaveM
rubycon I have been using 1and1 for a couple of years. I find the functionality of there admin page means you never really need to contact them. That is my reason for using them. Unfortunately trying to get good technical support is not an option, as they just have call centres with non technical people. If you want someone with good telephone technical support I would recommend www.redstation.co.uk they have plenty of time and know exactly what they are talking about, although they are sometimes engaged it's always the smaller comapnies that offer a more profesional and personal service. Not happy with 1and1 write a letter. |
Title: 1&1 Internet - Need local number Post by Damester on Mar 16th, 2005 at 11:01am
There is a big ISP called 1and1 Internet website:
www.1and1.co.uk They have numbers: Customer support: 08701 630 870 The fax is: 01753 490444 so I imagine there main number is similar to this. I've already called them and they advised that you cannot call them abroad. Might just change ISP and make it clear why. >:( |

They seem to have numerous fax numbers starting 490 44, and the number for their press office is 01753 490 435. It might be worth trying some numbers in that region.

Title: Re: 1&1 Internet - Need local number Post by Damester on Mar 16th, 2005 at 1:56pm
Yes, Think I've found it.
01753 490 401 - This goes straight through to customer support. Should I add this to the database? |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet - Need local number Post by Tanllan on Mar 16th, 2005 at 2:01pm
Yes, please.
Thank you for the speedy confirmation and helpful offer of adding. Well done. |

Okay Added it.
It's my pleasure, I think this website is a great idea and shows how the public can stop corporate fists from dominating us! ;D |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet - Need local number Post by DaveM on Mar 18th, 2005 at 2:14am
Please note that it's 1&1 Internet Ltd, the website at www.1and1.co.uk and also www.oneandone.co.uk (redirects)
That is probably why it wasn't picked up that the number is already in the database. Please check the link given by Jonathan above to the original posting by myself, where I researched the complete 1&1 phone systems. |

Hi - anyone know what the Georgraphical is for 08701630829?
They've already charged me twice and have not refunded this and now they're going to rip me off for sorting out their mess on the phone. |

Hi Philip, Ive moved your post onto the existing thread for 1&1. As you can see, there are some alternatives above. From DaveM's search above, try 01753 490402 or 412 |

Thanks for this very useful resource.
When you sign up for a 1and1 domain it isn't obvious, to me at least, that you are signing up for two years, and that they will take a second payment. My card expired before they tried to charge it for year 2 and so they wrote me a threatening letter. Of course it is almost impossible to deal with them. When you manage to get a phone number they wont update your card details by phone and I have ended up with a situation where having returned from holiday I have discovered that they have set a debt recovery agency on me to recover the debt that I did not know that I was liable for. At least now I will be able to deal with them without paying the 0870 fees. Thank you. |

Is it a .uk domain that you have registered? If so, they are registered for two years. 1&1 Internet specifically state that they will renew domains/packages automatically until you tell them otherwise. See this FAQ. |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet Post by Bigmouth on Jul 17th, 2006 at 7:03am
I failed to read the small print and it's my fault, but it is one of those cases where you don't know that the small print will affect you so you don't read it. I know that I will have to pay this bill, but I just think that 1and1 make it as difficult as possible to deal with them.
Again, I am glad not to have to use an 0870 number as that would add insult to injury. |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet Post by collinh on Mar 8th, 2007 at 5:11pm
I also have had problems with 1and1 where I have been charged for things I didn't want as the sign up didn't give you any warning before the charge was made to my cc. I spent a fortune on the 0870 number before I got hold of the geographic one.
Has anyone noticed that when you dial 01753 490404, the recorded message says it's a free phone? Anybody got that number? Never got a reply to all my emails and phone calls so I will be changing hosts at the next anniversary. Best wishes Collin |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet Post by philipwalsh on Apr 24th, 2007 at 4:32pm
I sent 1and1 a letter in the post, several e-mails, too many phone calls to count and they have still not responded to my complaint.
It seems that these people dont give a dam about the customer, i will continue to try and get my issues resolved but as for my business....... they have lost it. If your looking for a good host that will fix problems much faster than 1 and 1 then try www.terraprime.co.uk, they are only a small company but they seem to be able to get it rignt and the prices are good. Who knows someone might just deal with my complaint before I move the last few domains. |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet - changed geographic number Post by nkitson on May 21st, 2007 at 1:32pm
I used to use the 01753 490xxx numbers. Just tried again today and none of them work. Anybody know what they've changed to?
Cheers, Nick |

I know it's late but, for the sake of clarity, the url philipwalsh quoted included a spurious comma - so it didn't work.
He meant to quote http://www.terraprime.co.uk/ However, the 2004 dates thereon are rather worrying. |

In what way don't they work? I've just called them and they answer with a recording and put the caller in a queue. |

Thanks for this helpful thread.
Just called (141) 01753490555 after being cut off the first time my call was answered, and got through to a very helpful cs representative - NOT ENGLISH!! - who did at least give an answer to all my queries, and whose english was prety good. After reading this thread though, I think i'll try one of the smaller uk companies, i just left dataflame this am because I couldn't understand the person who answered their phone line in deepest darkest outer mongolia... or somewhere... might as well have been talking to someone from mars!!! |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet Post by EllisRowell on Feb 5th, 2008 at 5:04pm
I have been using 1and1.co.uk for 7 years and I am very satisfied with their service. Whenever I have had a problem (usually my own error) they have helped me out of it very quickly. I once managed to destroy the whole directory structure on my domains and they had it up and running again within a couple of hours. There's no accounting for the stupid things people do, I did a "chmod", as I thought, on a file. No, it was on the main directory. It didn't matter what I did I couldn't get into it again.

Hi,
Just like to add that I called the 401 number listed above and the lady on the phone gave me the number for their administrative department as she claimed she couldn't help me. The number she gave me is 01753490456 |

Well I just called this number after trying about 30 different ones, and blow and behold after 3 rings an extremely polite indian gentleman answered the phone. If you call the 0871 number you get extremely rude and unhelpful american call center... Anyway basically my problem was they disconnected my server, my payment failed and they sent me a letter saying i should call so i did and they said i should update my billing details and everything would be fine, which i did only to discoover 3 days later they locked my server - therfore shutting all my websites (over 20) and all my email addresses! anyway a long story short because it is outside office hours the billing department is shut. So i called the 247 support only to get an idiot telling me he has no authority to do anything. after spending ages searching online I finally founf this site and started ringing all the numbers for 1and1, and finally this one worked and I have managed to sort out my account and my server should be back online in 6 hours! compared to waiting till morning and calling the billing department and telling them to turn it on which will take the 48 hours! So any problems with 1and1 call this number! for very polite and helpful staff, in an ideal world it would be an english call center but at least his english was perfect and was the most helpful person i have ever spoken to at 1and1! 01753 490555 Needless to say I will be contacting thier normal billing department tomorrow demanding a rather large sum of money for compensation. |

Hi,
Does anyone know the ordinary land line number for 1 and 1 internet Ltd., based in Bath Road, Slough? They only give out 0844 335 1211. Thanks. |

We've covered this company a number of times in the past and I've joined your posting to the existing thread for it. A cursory glance of its contact page shows that 1&1 only operates 0844 and 0800 numbers whereas it used to use 0871. The suggestion that springs to mind is therefore to try the 01753 numbers we already have, and then feedback and let us know how you get on. It looks like the 0844 number needs adding to the current entry and I ask for your help by letting us know how you get on. |
Title: Re: 1&1 Internet Post by Hazelnut on Sep 3rd, 2011 at 10:09am
Success! I got through to a 1and1 internet call centre somewhere overseas (India?) by dialling 01753 490 555. From there I was then transfered to customer services - in America..! I guess I never would have found this number in the Slough phone book. Thanks.
