Does anyone know their non 0870 numbers?
They are an excellent company with cheap premiums and pay out - but I do not want to subsidise it with 0870 !!! ???

I endorse your view of their value for money (maybe it's partly because they make profit on incoming calls?). My schedule lists

I am insured with them and find that if you dial their freephone number you can access most departments.

The only difficulty is with claims, but again I have found that if you telephone them and complain about the use of disguised Premium numbers for claims they will connect you to the claims department. (They seem to use RIAS and IAS as their designation at various times.)

I have just had to make a claim to RIAS. I tried to use their 0845 number (0845 2340011), but they could not/would not transfer me to Claims, and made me dial an 0870 number. So more help is needed.

RIAS are based in Bournemouth where there call centre is.There ngn numbers are pointed at 01202 numbers.But unfortunately i cant get those numbers.But try this FREEPHONE NO 0800 552 100. Good luck.

It seems that claims to RIAS are handled by Fortis Insurance. Fortis's website gives only 0870 numbers for household insurance claims.

RIAS is part of the Fortis Group!!!. Try this number given to me by an ex employee of RIAS 0800 552 100. Good luck.

How about . . . . . 0845 6501333, 0845 6500021 and 0845 2340011 just for a start.

Now if we were given the 0870 numbers in the first place we would have had a starting point ! :-/

As it is, if you had taken the time to look in the database, we have two numbers there to try, one of which is the 0800 552100 given above.

Thanks for all your help.
Unfortunately to get through to claims I still have to dial an 0870 number.
I did complain to 2 of their advisors but was told this was the only number they had, I have tried the 0800 & 01202 numbers but with the same results,so I have had to use the 0870 thief.

I'm just looking at RIAS now. From what I've seen on their website, they use a variety of 0845 numbers, but when you look at the claims page, it's full of 0870 numbers. :'(

A look at their site on Internet Archive reveals that they moved to their current address quite recently, probably just over a year ago.

The old address is:
RIAS House, 37 Commercial Road, Poole, Dorset, BH14 0HN

The new address is:
RIAS House, Deansleigh Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH7 7DU

They used to use 01202 715 389 for customer services, but this is now out of service.

From the website I see they use numbers prefixed 01202 254.

There are also a couple of 01202 715 numbers in the database. Another one which isn't in is 01202 715512.
