I have just moved to Scottish Power and before doing so checked that they did not use 0845/0870.
During the transfer process they referred me to an 0845 number but most departments can be accessed via the numbers shown under Scottish power in the main listing. When I got through via the 0800 number operator tried to refer me to an 0845 number stating that his managers had told him it only cost 1p per minute. When I pointed out that it didn't he transferred me. 10 minute call. Zero cost on 0800. |

ScottishPower will be removing access to the 0800 numbers later this year, with the only option being sales.
The sales team will then have no facility to transfer the call to the customer services centre. ScottishPower can be reached my emailing contactus@scottishpower.co.uk Regards Anita Sangray SP Manweb |

Title: Virgin = 0800 !!!!! Post by Frank on Mar 31st, 2004 at 6:29pm
I have just switched to Virgin for Electricity and will stay with them as long as they have 0800 access and no 0870 numbers.
I will do anything at all to avoid companies or organisations which use 0870 or any other rip-off numbers. Really I feel that such numbers should carry with them something like a 'government health warning' that f*g packets are bound to carry. They should also be made to publish regular numbers alongside their rip-off numbers. As for BT - they should be closed down - for good. |

Oh no! Look what the censor did to my mention of 'alternative-word-for-cigarette'.
