Title: 18866 website??

!8866 site appears to be 'gone'?
Showing  words about 'place holding' - don't understand.
Should we be worrying about our credit cards?
Invoice detail site still seems OK.  Anyone know what's going on?

It works for me - http://www.call18866.co.uk/index2.php# (I've saved that link in my favorites - the /index2.php bit saves time and makes it work properly).

Me too !   ::)

Methinks Omy is getting a bit paranoid . . . or maybe had one too many last night !

Try the bookmarking both the www.call18866.com site as well as the .co.uk.  When they had some problems a short while back, the .UK site wasn't working but the .COM was OK.

Try taking more water with it OM  (old man !!)   ;D

Yes, I will definitely, as you say,  be "take taking more water with it", DaveM.
I think with all the concerns expressed elsewhere about the credid card authorisation and whether there is any protection for us in the event of any possible 'raid' on our accounts, it is a little disconcerting when sites 'disappear' - albeit in this case, temporarily.
Are you able to positively assure anyone that our card authorisations are 'safe'?  If not I think I should be allowed a modicum of paranoia! ;)

Good - Hic !! Then I shall try to as wellllllll !

If you don't trust them or you're worried, stop using that one and try their Telesavers site instead ! It seems to work out slightly cheaper anyway.

I don't mind a good modicum - is that with ice and lemon or tonic ??   ;)

The problem with Telesavers and all of the other 'talkthrough' sites is that they seem to be overloaded and you cannot get the number you wish to dial - or get an(incorrect) message saying no reply.

However every time you dial you get a minimum call 5p charge.

Can anyone confirm this??

I thought the message was an 'enhanced' engaged message that was not chargeable ?

Thanks
Daniel

3 people I told about the system have commented to me about this(2 on BT, 1 on One Tel) and I have checked my bill with lots of 4.8p charges for a few seconds connection.

Several times I rang my brother in USA and a recorded announcement said there was no reply. I rang again immediately and he was there.
