I am new to this site (and what a site!!) so apologies if I am repeating the point.
My daughter has just started at Southampton University and the phone in her room is - yes, you've guessed - 0870. This is just outrageous - parents spend a fortune putting their children through university and then get exploited when they want to keep in touch. Three letters will be going off tonight - MP, University and OFCOM. Will also try to involve a suitable BBC programme. Meanwhile, does anyone have an alternative for Southampton please?
