Please stop giving this site cheap publicity . It is rubbish

And, to test that 'rubbish' statement, I asked it to direct me to the cheapest way to call a USA landline.

Incredibly, it came back with:

Tiscali SimplyDial - 3.95p/min. - Mon to Fri 6pm - 8am via 0870 xxx xxxx
7.91p/min. - Mon to Fri 8am - 6pm - via 0870 xxx xxxx
10p/min. - Fri midnight to Sun midnight - via 0871 xxx xxxx - most expensive at weekends!

Somehow, it overlooks:

Budgetcom - an 0845 number
1899 - 0.50p/min
Telestunt 1p/min
Ratebuster 1p/min
Telesavers 1p/min
CheapestCalls 1p/min
Telediscount 2p/min
call18866 2p/min
Onetel 3p/min
Simply-Fone 3p/min

So, on a scale of 1 to 10, telecompare scores a minus 187, IMHO.

On the other hand, it did alert me to another country I often dial (Zimbabwe) for only 1p/min.

So it's not all bad!

To be fair, although that site's best price for what they call 'UK - National' calls is 3p/minute, they also (strangely) show rates to 'UK' numbers - where 3 dial-through firms offering 1p/minute UK calls are listed and another for 'UK - London' calls (where 2p/minute is the cheapest they offer).

It ignores the 0p/minute available from 1899 and 18866 though.

In summary, a very confused site where you'd do well to find lower call rates than you can find elsewhere.

To quote them -

That's not enough detail if it omits call rates of 1p/min in favour of 3p or 4p

Now I apologise; it compares more and shows the best 10

But try searching Belgium - Brussel (which I did, and thought it was useless), then Belgium - Brussels, then Belgium. 3, 4, 1

3 different results. I've got 3 different ways of calling from my mobile incl minutes at the moment

Same sort of thing happens with
UK;UK - London; UK - National

If you search UK - Orange you get different results if you change the landline/mobile box
