I've just discovered your excellent site, and I'd like to say what a pleasure it is to find so many people sharing my obsession.

A suggestion for the site (apologies if it's been made already): send standard letters to businesses saying that they're being boycotted because of their use of 0870 numbers. Attach a list of names and addresses of everyone who is supporting the boycott.

Also, you might be interested to know that I recently wrote to Rod Eddington, the chief executive of British Airways, asking why they used an 0870 number. I got a reply from one of his underlings (not even signed by him) saying something like "In common with other businesses, British Airways is receiving increasing volumes of calls from its customers, and is being forced to pass on some of the cost of handling them". Did you ever hear such lying, hypocritical bullshit?

Gosh! I wrote an eight-letter word meaning "taurine excreta" in my last post, and the system changed it to a word I didn't even know existed.
