Lacking some basic information. ::)
Yes we know who Vodafone are, but which department is the 0870 for? Are you saying that the previous number was a geographical one and has been discontinued? Do the numbers in the database on this site not get you there? |

yes thats what I'm saying Vodafone now has a non-geographical number. The new number I quoted was the number sent to me in an email for their Customer Care Team

A misnomer if ever there was one. 'Customer Don't Care Team' would be more approproiate if they've now changed to a rip-off 0870 number. |

I got caught by the non-service too - Voda 'change number line' of 0870 160 3020 - nothing comes up with SNT0 search. P

The geographic number that I used for Vodafone last week still seems to be working at the moment. That is 01635 689210 however they were less than helpful when I did phone them and tried to get me to phone an 0870 number.

Thanks Geranium. I'm sure if enough people complain at their 0870 number, hopefully the'll do something about it!

I have the following numbers for Vodafone - I haven't tried any, maybe you'd like to try [the good news that they are all freephone numbers]:
0500 123123, 0500 505506 0800 242242, 0800 435720, 0800 443377, 0800 501500, 0800 525116, 0800 535535, 0800 555453 0800 101 1125 I think 0800 501500 might be their HQ. |

I'll give them a test and post any that come up OK :-* |
Title: Re: Vodafone - Customer services Post by Chick Lunchbox on Oct 26th, 2004 at 9:29am
I tried some of the above numbers but they all appear to bvelong to specialised business units.
The Vodafone site gives no useful geographical number, but in the small print for PAYG customers is a Voda-style number 07836 19 19 19 'for customers calling from overseas' Whilst this is not free, many users will have X-net bundled minutes on other accounts that can be employed for a customer service enquiry more cheaply than Voda's 0870 rate. |

Title: Re: Vodafone - Customer services Post by dorf on Oct 26th, 2004 at 12:36pm
But surely this is another example of the confusion which now reigns? Where is there any official provision in the current numbering system (supposed to be the New Numbering System which is not being enforced by Ofcom) for any number designated a "National Rate" number in the category beginning "07"? I have not been able to find any!

I note that this thread did not end in a satisfactory conclusion.
I have found that the geographical number 01635 332 51 (an unusual BT 10 digit number) does work as at 1 June 2005. Perhaps the database ought to show this only. |

Vodafone have a new 0870 number which I cannot find on the database - 0870 1601 621
This is for Business customers. I am not a business customer but in their infinite wisdom when the bought out the company I was with, they decided to make me business. Because of the great tariff I am on I have no wish to go elsewhere because that means they would want me on a new tariff.. So.. I would appreciate if anyone has a clue how to avoid the 0870 number. The other number that is on the Daterbase is for non business. |

Hi,
The number for Vodafone Customer Services listed on saynoto0870.com Vodafone - 0870 0700191 - 01925 862000 ... doesn't put you through to Customer Services. I've tried this number three times in the past week and each time it puts you "on hold". I've left the call on-hold for over 60 minutes each time - so it seems Vodafone have "got wise" to this and re-direct your call to nowhere but hold music. Calling the normal 0870 number gets a response within 2-3 minutes. Hope that helps somebody else not waste time on-hold like me! Regards, Richard Tubb. |
Title: Re: Vodafone Customer Services Number Post by jamesbond on Apr 25th, 2006 at 5:48pm

Why not try 01635 33251 and then listen to the annoucement. If you follow the instructions, you should get through. James Bond |
Title: Re: Vodafone Customer Services Post by rtubb on Apr 25th, 2006 at 5:55pm
Hi,
Thanks James. I didn't notice that number listed on the Search Engine, so I'll give it a go. Is this the right place to note non-working numbers such as the 01925 862000 number I mentioned? Will the database be updated with this? I wouldn't want anyone else to waste their time like I did. Regards, Richard Tubb. |

The reason why the 0870 will work is because of something called Intelligent Call Routing (ICR). This ICR will forward the call to one of possible many call centres around the UK (and often outside the UK!!) whichever has the least amount of people already in their queuing systems for that specific call centre. Sometimes dialling a geographical direct may only put you on hold in the queuing system for that specific call centre which I think would be the Warrington area in this case. If I remember I will keep trying this number during times when they are likely (well hopefully) less busy. |

A secondary number is 0870 4500010 which requests a mobile telephone number. Does anyone know the 08 number for Vodafone Corporate which points to (answers the same as) this 01635 number? I have been through the database and removed a number of 01782 609xxx numbers which are now either temporarily out of order or busy and relate to mobile companies (Vodafone, DotMobile, Singlepoint 4U). Some of these entries had 0800 068 xxxx numbers in as well which are now not working. 028 9027 5302 straight to agent, answered as "Vodafone NI" 01636 602902 straight to agent, answered as "Vodafone Business" |

The Vodafone customer services number quoted by shops is 0870 0700 191. I rang it today, entered my phone number, and got the engaged tone. Four. Times. Every. Time. >:( And at different times of day. Waste of time!
Tried 01635 33251 (gleaned from this forum) - no busy tone. OK, I had to tap in my phone number twice, and then give it verbally to an assistant, but ... a) At least it wasn't an 0870 number! :) b) And I got through! :) c) Also, I was not challenged for ringing this number (as others have reported above). I can recommend this number, although I will not be using it ever again (having just requested my PAC (to transfer to O2)). Still, I hope this number (along with my experience of using it) is useful for others. Happy Christmas! |

I didn't read the rest of the thread, but what's wrong with calling 191 from the handset?
That number is also 07836 191 191. No idea what the rate is for calling that. It looks like a mobile number. |

I've just got a Vodafone PAYG sim, and I am sure I will have to call Customer Services at some point, I shall try the 'mobile' number from my contract O2 Mobile and advise on how it's charged.

Title: Vodafone Redirecting 0808 To 0870 Numbers!! Post by NGMsGhost on Mar 5th, 2013 at 3:59pm
So this is to report that on trying to call Vodafone today on a series of 0808 numbers listed for them in the Verified and Unverified sections of the alternative numbers list I am persistently getting redirected by an automated message to instead call 191 on my handset or 0870 0100191 (or 08700 100191 as they choose to announce it) when calling various numbers including the Portability Helpline on 0808 0945945 and Customer Services on 0808 0000166 and 08080 0408408 or Customer Relations on 0808 0044700.
0808 0996746 listed in the Unverified also does not work and nor does an automated announcement on this number saying that Vodafone called you but if you need to called them back you can do so on 0808 0000115. Unfortunately the 0808 00001115 number also does not work and gives you a number unavailable message (the modern incarnation of the unobtainable tone) However 0808 0408408 (already listed as a Verified alternative but the only one that still works), 0808 0044426 do still work. Also 0808 0011101 in the Unverified section does not work any more itself to get through to but then says if you still need to call Vodafone to call them instead on 0808 0000166 (i.e. an officially company approved 0808 number for calling them it would seem). This number does work and has several IVR options for different parts of Vodafone. If Vodafone are going to play the Sky game of closing down well known 0808 or geographic numbers and this is in the name of increased revenue share seeking on 084/7 numbers then you would at least have thought they would be using an 0844 number. But no the incompetent muppets at Vodafone cost you a fortune extra to call them from a mobile or on any BT landline without inclusive minutes calls when you are calling (or in the case of most other landlines at all times) but are presumably not even benefiting from any revenue share in doing so. Only the company you are making the call with will be benefiting from the extra scam charges that Ofcom still incredibly allows to be made for out of bundle calls to 0870 numbers so why exactly on earth do Vodafone still do it?! >:( This is especially hard to fathom when customers calling on their own handsets will be using 191 and so the only opportunity Vodafone had to benefit from the extra 0870 call charges as an OCP will not in fact exist. I can see why they might not want people to call them at their expense on an 0808 number but why not either get an 0844 number on which they will earn the ful revenue share available or get an 03 number if they don't want their callers to have to pay extortionate prices but object to having to pay totally for the incoming call. It does seem very, very odd that in 2013 a telco as large as Vodafone should be actively supporting and promoting the continued use of what should now be antiquated and archaic 0870 numbers? :-? >:( :'( I fear I may not have exhaustively tested all the 0808s tested for Vodafone but I did certainly try the vast majority and all of those listed in the Verified numbers section. Although I haven't yet tried it as my free calls don't start till 7pm with Post Office Homephone I suspect it is likely that they will also be redirecting many of their geographic 01635 and similar alternatives to their 0870 CS number. >:( >:( >:( |

Thanks for reporting this; I will clear out the numbers that are no longer any use.
To the best of my knowledge, customer services can be reached on 01635 676061. You press any key and then a mobile number is requested. Please let us know if it works or not for CS enquiries, should you try it. |

I may try their geographic numbers later after 6pm (hour earlier start I just remembered with Post Office HomePhone compared to BT or Plusnet Home Phone) although this is going to be one of my last interactions with Vodafone as I am helping one of my relatives also become a customer of www.ovivomobile.com who give you 150 minutes of calls and 400MB of data per month for free (subject to reading the occasional inserted ad page when web browsing on the mobile). I was somewhat surprised Dave that you had no comment to make on Vodafone still using the archaic 0870 range as their main landline number for customer services. |

If your ringing them from another UK mobile network worth noting you can use 07836 191 191.Hopefully out of your inclusive minutes if you have some. :)
But they do some keen for some reason for customers calling from another UK Phone to call old skool 0870 numbers. I've had a tidy-up and clear-out of Vodafone numbers. Please let me know of any further amendments that are required.
I have come across a range of 0333 numbers that are for Vodafone; one of these was given out on 0161 446 4300 and 0870 077 7881. Putting the 0870 number into the search returned some other entries for Yes Telecom. All the numbers for Yes answered as Vodafone and redirected elsewhere. 0161 446 4300 / 0870 077 7881 redirect to 0333 304 4550 for Vodafone customers 0333 304 3346 Vodafone Insurance 0333 304 4333 Try Googling search terms like vodafone "0333", vodafone "03333" and vodafone "0333 304" to find them. |

I think that this demonstrates how low down the list of priorities an incoming telephone number is. Most other companies have followed the revenue trail and switched to 0844. Clearly, Vodafone isn't that bothered and isn't so bothered about the cost its customers pay to ring up, as clearly no user of a 084/087 number is. It speaks volumes about the industry that the main mobile networks provide their own mobile numbers for customer services from other networks. I have commented before how they will rake off the higher termination charges, although of course these are now coming down due to the general reduction in mobile termination rates. |

These numbers answer with the following options:
1. Join Vodafone, move from pay as you go or add another phone to your account. 2. Upgrade your handset or have a question. 0808 002 2005 0808 002 2008 0808 002 2009 0808 004 4423 0808 004 4424 0808 004 4426 0808 040 0401 0808 040 8408 The number 0808 002 2010 answers with two options: 1. If you're calling about a business account; 2. If you're calling about a consumer account. On selecting option 1, the menu is as at the top of this posting (with the exception that pay as you go isn't mentioned) and selecting option 2 gives the same menu as at the top of this posting. These are the numbers I tried; there are obviously others nearby that might be worth a try. |
Title: Re: Vodafone Customer Services Post by NGMsGhost on Mar 26th, 2013 at 4:10pm
Dave,
That looks like more than enough numbers to meet the needs of site users. I would suggest only one of the 0808 numbers for retail customers is listed for now along with a separate listing for the business customer services number and that the others are held in reserve until such time as the first one gets blocked. Having said that Vodafone does also make a big distinction between Pay As You Go and Contract customer service but in my experience no 0808 numbers exist for Pay As You Go customer service and you normally have to use one of the 0808 numbers intended for contract customers and then beg them to transfer you over to Pay As You Go rather than making you call back on an 0870 number. Also sorry for not replying earlier as I only just spotted the post update thread in a clear out of my webmail. |
