Title: Phoning 0870/0845 from mobiles Post by carmenes on Mar 1st, 2005 at 3:00pm
I'm new to this site so thought I better make my first post a good one!
I've found a great way to call 0870/0845 numbers from a mobile phone. All you need is a pay monthly phone with inclusive cross-network minutes on 02, Orange or T-mobile (Vodafone and 3 may charge). You just dial 07744974294 followed by the number...this came in really handy when I had to call Sky and they've closed down the geographic numbers. There is a web site: www.freefreefree.co.uk which gives more info...you can also make international calls via this access code. Cheers, Carmenes. |

A bit more info needed here guys (& gals).
Alistair Gates registered the FreeFreeFree website, but declined to give his address details, something he forgot to do on the registration of DialAbroad.co.uk. Alistair Gates and Chris D G Smith are co-founders of DialAbroad, started in March 2003. (also Cheap-International-Calls.info) They do calls to abroad from Landline and Mobile at super cheap rates, via their access number. They also, in partnership with 0044, supply mobile sims for use in Spain to call home cheaply with the DialAbroad-Spain service. Anyone got any more info on them or has used their services ? |

Just noticed Orange has changed its PAYG tariffs yet again. Pricing information is here. Calls to 0845 NGNs cost 20p/min at all times whereas geographical, Orange and 0870 calls cost 15p/min at all times. ???

Interesting to see this thread again, and see what I should have realised much sooner. In answer to those old queries ...
The usernames carmenes and carmenes82 were used by (probably) Chris Smith on MSE. Dialabroad was mentioned several times, and DialabroadSpain, supporting the wrong assumption we would make from the username. A discussion on roaming costs then occurred, leading up to the timely launch of their new product, which was little cheaper in fact than roaming a UK contract phone with the relevant int'l option. After declaring an previously hidden interest, the username was banned. In other words, this may have been spam all along. |
