Title: Calling UK mobiles
Post by antonia on Mar 1st, 2005 at 10:44pm
Can any of you clever people tell me how I can cut down costs to UK mobile phones please?  Am currently using 18866.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you have a BT line, your calls to mobiles are costing you 12p/minute during her week and 3p/minute at weekends with 18866.

You could simply change to 1899 for those mobile calls and cut the cost to 10p/minute during the week (they also now charge 3p/minute at weekends).

That's about 17% cheaper during the week.

The downside is 1899 make a 3p connection charge as opposed to 18866's 2p.

It is possible to get cheaper rates at some times to some networks (e.g. OneTel's Standard UK Talk and OneTel's CallSaver packages would save money on some calls) but you'd have to be very aware of the networks you're dialling and the relevant times to benefit.

Providers like www.dialaround.co.uk, access no 0871 999 32 32 allow you to call Uk Mobiles for 10p a minute. (ONLY USE DURING PEAK OR EVENING RATE)

If you are phoning Voda No,s the 0844 4840700 access no allows you to call them Weekday Evenings for 5p a min.
Have you considered ringing them from a mobile.
www.easymobile.com have got an offer on to the end of June (Possibly be extended) pay £5 for a sim card get £10 of calls to start. All calls to any networks at any time just a 6p minute (and approx 83 minutes of free calls from the extra £5 they give you).

Has anyone actually tried the 0870 number listed on the post above to call mobiles??

Also I would point out that the cost for calling mobiles with 1899 has increased to 3p per minute at weekends >:(
