Anyone know this non 0870 number? Or even a way of getting to speak to someone! Cheers.

According to their website, trainline.com is owned by trainline holdings, which is owned by Virgin Group (80.5%), National Express Coaches (14%) and Stagecoach Holdings (5.5%).
Companies House have Trainline Holdings and Trainline.com listed at 120 Campden Hill Road, London, W8 7AR, each with their own Company Number. A search on 192.com for Trainline, found this entry http://www.192.com/search/search.cfm which will show you trainline.com but at a different london address, but with a geographical number. Might be worth a try? Interestingly, although it shows Trainline.com with a Leicester Square address, if you click on that link it shows you Campden Hill Road address! |

Are some companies getting wise to this? The Trainline geographical alternative number gives a recorded message telling you to ring the 0870 numer! Does anyone have a better number for this company?

What geographical number are you using Godfrey?

Title: Re: Trainline Post by Godfrey on Feb 2nd, 2006 at 4:47pm
the number I used was 02074844570

Hmm, I see what you mean.
I've just Googled the first few digits of that number at got 0207 484 4589 and 0207 484 4596. There is also a fax of 0207 930 0455 which is still in service and connected to a fax machine. 020 7484 4596 goes to voicemail. Press 0 to go to the operator which gives another recording: It says it's the offices of Virgin and then gives a list of numbers for various parts of the company:

There is a number in the database for thetrainline.com:
The Trainline 0870 3333555 0207 4844570 Midland Mainline; also for 0870 3334875 However, this appears to be incorrect. The usual number for thetrainline is 0870 010 1296. The numbers above are possibly for "branded" versions of thetrainline for different train operating companies - they return very few Google results. The London number given doesn't work out of hours. It says to call back during the day. 0870 010 1296 does work out of hours. Can we find the geographical alternative for it? thetrainline 498 Gorgie Road Edinburgh EH11 3AF Refunds Department PO Box 222333 Edinburgh EH11 3YT [edit]by Dave This post has been joined onto the end of the existing thread on TheTrainline.com[/edit] |

Hello.. I've tried in earnest to get a non 0870 number for thetrainline.com - the number listed on your site is just a recording, to call the 0870 number. Pressing zero goes to Virgin head office which gives the same number for them!
Any help would be appreciated - i'm sure there are alot of people who call them. Many thanks |

For reference the number speedbird001 refers to is 020 74844570. I have now removed it from the database. :) |

The (new?) office for TheTrainLine.com is:
The Matrix 9 Aldgate High Street London EC3N 1AH Tel: 020 31282000 Fax: 020 31282111 However, the contact address given on the website is the Edinburgh PO box mentioned above: PO BOX 222333 Edinburgh EH11 3AF So it may be that the service is provided by a third party call centre provider. |

Looking at the database we appear not to have found any working numbers for TheTrainLine.com.
I have removed 01925 422280 from the unverified database as it's NU. 0131 4441136 is supposed to be a fax number but rings no answer. 01925 671732 apparently goes through to India who give out the 0870 number |

Please help with the alternative STD number for 08700101296

What is the number for? What company? Their address? Where did you find the number?
A quick Google suggests this is for TheTrainLine, although maybe for help with the sites they run on behalf of train operators. Is that what you are looking for? Have you tried the TrainLine numbers in the database to see if they can deal with your queries on those numbers? 01925 671732 (maybe payment investigations) 01925 671729 (database says Trainline support for First Scotrail, but as it's a Warrington number, it's obviously not in Scotland, so may be for all operators) |

I am looking for STD phone number for thetrainline customer services or the booking instead of 0870. The number you suggested, after dailing, message saying number is changed. Please help.

Thanks for the feedback; I have listed this number as verified. I have also removed the entry giving 01709 849394 which is now answered by a recording saying that it is London Midland, and redirecting to the 0121 number. |

Just been trying to contact the Trainline to find out about a reservation today and tried the 01709 849299 number.
Got a strange message about "Due to the circumstances, we cannot take your call at this time", then tried the 0871 number and it went straight through. So not sure if they're blocking the 01709 number or what. |
