Title: Which? Post by Kiwi_g on Apr 12th, 2005 at 10:57am
I wrote to "Which?" suggesting that they investigate "Premium Rate" 0870 numbers. I also pointed out that they had an 0845 number but published the normal number next to it.
I received the reply today as follows :- I can certainly understand your point of view especially as you are one of the enlightened consumers who has sourced a really good deal for yourself for the types of calls that you make. To be honest at this point we aren't planning on campaigning or doing any further research in the reasons for the way the phone industry is moving sticking for now with reporting on what the comparative costs of calls are to ensure that our members can continue to make informed decisions. saynoto0870 will I am sure prove to be a very popular site and is one that we have had recommended to us by numerous individuals. It's really useful for us in customer services here too as we often refer our members to other organisations and now we can also offer a choice of numbers. I'll certainly ensure that you comments on the whole subject reaches the right people here at Which? as I know that we will continue to monitor phone charges so thank you for emailing us. It really is helpful to hear from our members as it certainly keeps us in touch with what you really think and on this topic you're certainly not alone. Regards, Julia Mackie Which? It's a shame that Which? is not thinking of doing anything about this rip-off |

It certainly is a shame Kiwi_g,
In fact I think it is more than that. It demonstrates I think that The Consumers Association or whatever they now call themselves is very selective in what they consider constitutes the best value for money for consumers, or where they are being ripped-off. They ought to have the interests of the consumer at the forefront of their activities in every sphere of consumer spending, not just those they choose to select. The non-09 NGN rip-off is one of the worst examples today of consumers being denied value for money. If they fail to campaign for consumers in any area where consumers are being ripped-off, the CA will eventually loose some support from consumers generally. |

There was a good reason for changing the avatar, trying to help somebody out.
However it is nice to know that you are paying attention! I shall watch my spelling in future knowing that there is your eagle eye open for it. As far as Which is concerned, my comments about the latter still stand, I just deleted it before you picked any more holes in it. In the future I must remember to take your posts addressed at me with a pinch of salt, sorry my sense of humour failed me for once. ;D |

Yes, juby was trying to help me with my avatar, which is why he posted it on his log in. There is a problem with it for some reason.
Give him a break you guys? |
