Are 0845 numbers free or perhaps you could explain this

No they are not because they are non geographical!!!
If your dialling from a BT line calls cost 3p a minute peak, and 1p a minute evenings and weekends.Other providers charge different rates.They also tend to be a lot dearer from mobiles.They are not included in land line call providers cheap/free call packages either.So say no to 0845 as well!!!
