Title: Dial-a-Phone
Post by datasafe on May 3rd, 2005 at 5:59pm
Hi all

Having spent ages to get through to Dial-a-Phone' customer services, I gave up.

Anyone have an alternative to 0870 333 6061

Cheers

John

What's up with the alternatives listed in the database?

Hi Dave and thanks for the reply.

I have tried the alternative numbers published but get told that I have to use the 0870 number. I explained that hanging on for ages costs a fortune but they say they can't help and I have to ring 0870 333 6061.

Sorry I didn't mention this earlier.

I detest these companies that keep you hanging on listening to all the usual drivel, then explain they're very busy and there could be some delay and then I end up listening to Barry White for 10 mins or so before I give up!

Cheers

John

What's the nature of the enquiry? There is a freephone customer services number. If you are after customer services, does this number go to a different department or has another purpose?

If so, let us know so that the database can be updated.

My enquiry is quite simple. I purchased a phone from Dial-a-Phone prior to Christmas + insurance cover.

The phone was dropped in a puddle, Three said it was not repairable and I should make a claim for replacement.

I've contacted Dial-a-Phone using the numbers published and always been re-directed to the 0870 333 6061 number.

I've now sent them an email but their reply states I should ring them on 0870 333 6061 !!!

Total pain

John

Do Dial-a-Phone provide the insurance directly then, or does their 0870 have a menu which takes you to the company providing the insurance?

I'm afraid I can't get a definative answer on that one.

It's certaily not a choice on their automated answer service so you just wait for the 'next available CS representative' for ever!!

The geo aletnative for Dialaphone has been dead. It can reach Dialaphone, but cannot been connected to Customer Service. Anyone can find the new number for  0870 333 6061 again? Thanks!

Here is the info:
Dial-a-Phone Ltd
53 - 79 Highgate Road
London NW5 1TL
VAT No. 730 9350 45
Company Registration No. 3080385

The other number we have for DialAPhone Customer services is 0808 1722300 and that works OK.

0207 2418600 option 2 however does direct you to use the DialAPhone website.

Many thanks!

Is it 0808 1722300 a free number to dial?

All the numbers of dialaphone 0808 172 2300 and the 0207 do not lead to Customer Service anymore.  The 0800 000077 number is also a sales number.

Does anybody have a new CS number other than the 0870 number

This is their address:

Dial-a-Phone Ltd
53 - 79 Highgate Road
London NW5 1TL

Now, before anyone says, there is information on this on the search facility of this site, I would like to point out that

The 02072418600 number is a generic number and although it has option 2 - customer care, when you do this, the machine say dial the 08703336061 number. Its a automated machine tellnig the customer to call the 0870 number.

The 0800 092 8244 number is SALES ONLY not CUSTOMER SERVICES. I just tried this, its says, Sales enquiries. (btw: they will not transfer you to custoemr services - they ask you to call the o870 number. However, few months ago, this number used to be customer care but not anymore.

And the 08081722300 number is also SALES ONLY.

Does anyone know the geograhical number for custoemr services/care please?

(Probably out of hours) I suggest you try numbers after that one to see if you get the recording on the 0870.

which numbers?

02072418600, 02072418601, 02072418602, 02072418603.... etc etc

I suggest you make a note of what you get on each number, eg fax, no answer, out of service, busy etc. Also, make a note of which answer as someone's personal extension number, ie where you get an answerphone saying something like "This is John Smith, please leave a message..." Those numbers are presumably not the ones you're after.

*Hopefully* (although not always) some will answer with the same messages as the NGNs, that way you know (or can be quite certain) that these are the geographical number(s) that the NGNs go to.

This is how we've found some of the numbers on this site. Often, switchboard/reception numbers start 00 and other direct dial numbers follow on. OK, so it doesn't always work, and you may get another company/residential, but it's worth a try. You may also have to ring through several hundred (or more) numbers, depending on the size of the company.

That number belongs to a automated call handling system. Its not related to dial a phone.

I think it is!

I've discovered this same system when looking for numbers for another company. It allows you to dial other extension numbers, that way you can go through their extensions without needing to redial. I suspect that this "Automated Call Handling System" comes on where a DDI number goes to an extension which doesn't exist.

OK, I don't know for certain that this number is Dial-a-Phone, but it certainly appears to be some company's prefix.

ok, so we just add say for example a staff members extension number?

but that option doesnt exist when going through this automated call handling system

What I'm suggesting is that the NGNs go to one (or more) of their direct dial numbers. You have the prefix, so it's a case of trying many. That's how numbers have been found for this site. That is, what appear to be those that the NGNs go to as they answer with the same message.

OK, so most will probably be someone's private extension. Knowing which numbers are will help to eliminate those that aren't what you're after.

The automated call handling system is a way of dialing extensions (other than dialing them direct). So should you find that there are other extensions which have a different prefix, you have another way in, as it were, to dial those extensions.

dialaphone customer services is a joke.. if you e-mail them they reply by telling you to call them on the 0870 number.. the NGN tells you to call the 0870.number. when we gave in and call that number they repeat the same message 3 times, then gave you options after options. all in all it takes approx 40 minutees to speak to a human being......... surely it's about time this was stopped

Tried all numbers for Dial a phone - none allow you to contact services all ask you to dial 0870 number. Has anyone else had problems with their cash back system?

They also have a email  customer.services@dialaphone.com

But again the email will not receive replies , they can only send you an email. Lousy customer services. >:(

Now, out of hours, it answers with a recording "The call centre default night message" and invites you to leave a message. Are you saying that there is a recording on it during the daytime or is it answered by a human, but they won't put you through?

Look at previous posts. Some other similar numbers have been found for Dial-a-Phone, so I suggest you try other 020 724186xx numbers. If you do, let us know what you find. Probably best to withhold your number. The 0870 will probably lead to one or more of those.
