I did a basic company search with Companies House.

The company Daxon UK Limited (Company Number 2649337) is shown as being in liquidation.

The company number under the address for Daxon on their web site belongs to Movitex (UK) Limited.  The registered office for this company is the Daxon address.

A BT search for Movitex gave no result.

Sorry I can be of no more help.

A Whois of daxon.co.uk gives the registrant's address as follows:
Movitex (UK) Ltd
18 Canal Road
Bradford
West Yorkshire
BD99 4XB

A Google of "BD99 4XB" 01274 returns a few results which shows Redcats Brands Ltd at the same address.

Daxon is a Redcats brand.

The same phone number is quoted on those search results, which is 01274 729544
Maybe this is switchboard.

The results also show the general fax number to be 01274 843930. Someone's number is quoted as 01274 843924.

I've tried 01274 843 900 through to 999. Most don't answer, some are faxes. 966 has answerphone message on saying its someone in Redcats Personal Finance.

Title: Re: Request for baby essentials company numbers

General information:

Having registered to receive email offers from Vertbaudet I have found that they ignore "unsubscribe" emails.  Worse still their contact us page doesn't work - it insists on entry in a query-select field which doesn't work - so you have to use the 0844 number which is good for them (I didn't try it).

It says:
<<Call 0844 842 0000 - 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week...  Calls cost up to 5p per minute with a connection charge of no more than 3.5p from all BT landlines. Mobiles and other providers' charges may vary. >>

They can well afford to take calls OK...  But not from me!

First, are they allowed to ignore unsubscribe requests? As it's a UK-based company, surely the laws on spam come into play if they continue to send e-mail after you've requested they stop.

Also, are you using Firefox by chance? Their site is indeed broken so that it doesn't work on Firefox. Internet Exploder works with the form. I haven't tried other browsers, but you could try Opera or Safari/Konqueror if you don't use Windows.

When you do contact them, you should also report the error on their webpage. This is seemingly a shoddy company so you'd better take your business elsewhere.

I've also found:

# Phone: 0500 012345 or 0500 33 22 11
# Fax: 01274 763838

They might only be for ordering, but worth a try. 0500 is free from landlines.

Thanks.

I've removed this 01924 number and 01924 743667 which is also "temporarily out of order". La Redoute is a Redcats brand whose website gives its Bradford address, telephone number (01274 729544) and e-mail addresses La Redoute, Daxon and others. This telephone number was posted previously (see above).

I have just rung several of the database numbers for La Redoute, looking to make an enquiry about an online order.

I can verify that 0800 0270008 has been discontinued.
and that 0500 012345 does work for La Redoute customers.

Thanks for this. I have removed the 0800 027 0008 as it is now unobtainable.

The 0500 012345 identifies itself as being for Vertbaudet which is one of Redcats' other brands.

However, the verified numbers, 0500 777777 and 0500 777888 both answer as "La Redoute" with the same menu as is on its 0844 number. I have therefore decided not to list 0500 012345 as a number for La Redoute; it is listed in the database for Vertbaudet and has the same menu on as its 0844 number.

It's me again, still trying to find a normal geo number for me to contact La Redoute regarding an online order querie.

BT say the 0500 number costs 5p per minute during the day.  I particularly want a standard geo number because I get free landline calls from my mobile.

I have tried this number a few times - 01274729544 but they just keep offering me an 0844 number.

Smileyeyes.. where are you trying to dial the 0500 number from? I noticed you mentioned BT.. so it that a landline?

If it is, as far as I was aware, and I am sure if I am wrong someone will correct me.. 0500 numbers and 0800 numbers are FREE from a BT Landline...

Just thought that might help you..

Calls to 0500 numbers are free from landlines, just as 0800 and 0808 numbers are. The person you spoke to at BT was mistaken.

The woman apologised for the numerous advisor's who misinformed me.
I shouldn't have doubted Dave and CJT-80... but when you have Actual BT staff telling you specifics like 5p during the day and 3p during the evenings, it's hard not to be a little befuddled.

Last week there was a whole day where I wasn't able to get on the site.... I started worrying it had been shut down
Phew, you're still here!

Please do not go spreading the myth that 0300 numbers are free to call per se. Their call charges depend on the tariff subscribed to.

These numbers can be placed in two groups:

1. "Freephone" numbers: This is a widely used title and applies to 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers. They are free to call from BT landlines and other landlines, irrespective of tariff. They are also free from BT Payphones.

2. Geographic (01/02) and "UK-wide" (03) numbers: All 03 numbers are charged the same; do not think that because the third and fourth digits are 00 that they are different and perhaps always free to caller. They are charged on the same (or better) terms as geographic numbers, and are free as part of inclusive packages. It stands to reason therefore, that the BT representatives would have to know which calling plan you are on in order to answer the question of cost of calling accurately.

Remember that 03 numbers are all those starting 03; that is 0300, 0303, 0330, 0333, 0343, 0344, 0345, 0370, 0371 and 0372.

Sorry, I didn't mean to spread incorrect information.  BT advised me all 0300 are free, she didn't mention tariffs.

Welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

Please can you explain what you mean when you say you "cannot ring any of the free numbers quoted." I have just tried 0500 777777 and got through to La Redoute IVR (menu).  :-?

Title: Re: Daxon Online Orders {Redcats}
Post by smileyeyes on Apr 13th, 2011 at 11:33am
Hello to everyone  :)

Today I needed to talk with Daxon regarding an online order.  Daxon's website gives this number: 0844 842 1234.

On our UnVerified database Daxon is listed 3 times, offering this number: 01274 729544
http://www.saynoto0870.com/numbersearch.php

I just want to let yous all know, I called 01274 729544 and was greeted by a very terse woman who claimed to be Daxon's Head Office.
When I explained I needed to discuss my online order she 'told' me to ring the number that is on their website!
Then I launch into the usual speech - my phone can not dial any 0844 or 0845 numbers, I'm disabled and unable to trot down to the local phone box...
Amazingly, she then said she might be able to transfer me.
She was not happy about doing this - poor thing having to push a couple of numbers on the phone   ::)
I was transferred to a Daxon Customer Service advisor, and my issues have been resolved, they don't make life easy for us paying customers do they!

Thanks to SAYNOTO0870.COM I haven't had to pay for a phone call for almost 1 year - I joined on 16th April 2010.    [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Me Again   :D  RE: LA REDOUTE

I would like to confirm that a geo number listed in the unverified database does work.... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

The number is listed under La Redoute > 0844 842 2222  =  01924 313612

This takes you straight to Customer Services, nice n easy   ;D

{ps can someone please explain to me how I can insert a link that would take you to the page I am talking about? Thanks}

Thanks for this. I've put this in the verified listings for La Redoute and labelled it as "Customer Services Straight through with no menu". Do you know whether they will take orders on this number? If it does, I will amend it to say so.

Also, will they deal with Vertbaudet enquiries on this number? If so, then I can put an equivalent entry in for it.

01924 313612 does take you to a 'menu'
3 options, place new orders, arrange collections, and all other queries.
I have checked and they do deal with Vertbaudet as well as La Redoute    :)
{thanks for the link....am off to check it out now..}

:)

I didn't try this number; I assumed that it was straight through (without a IVR/menu).

It turns out that it is the same IVR as is on 0870 050 0455, 0844 842 2222, 0500 777777 and 0500 777888, so I conclude that they can all be used interchangeably. I've put them all in one single entry (and removed the separate one giving this 01924 number I created earlier).

I then tried 01924 313611 and found this to be the same La Redoute IVR and 313610 is the equivalent Vertbaudet IVR. 313609 wasn't an IVR (rang) and 313613 was answered by a member of staff.

So we've found the direct alternatives that we've been looking for for quite a while. Thanks to the person that submitted the 313612 number.  :)

A little more digging reveals that Daxon has the alternative 01924 313605. The published number is 0871 225 8080. As there is no known freephone number for Daxon, I've put an entry giving the La Redoute freephone number, 0500 777777, with a note to say that it is the same company.
