The Inland Revenue wish me to contact them via 0845 3021400 and the alternative number is given as 02380 204870, yet, at that end, they say "oh no, this is for employERS, not employEES", you must ring the 0845 number and no other number is available", yet this number is constantly engaged.

I'm very much aware that there are some people who "expect" alternative numbers to be dropped into their laps without searching themselves, but believe me, I've looked everywhere and hope I haven't missed it.

This request from the Tax people, heralds from West Hampshire Area if that is any use. Could you Dave or anyone else help please.

It would appear that I am no better than anyone else in as much that if I'd looked deeper, I'd have found the number for myself. It, along with many more, were accessible via the chat section of this site.

Having said that, when I dialled the alternative number, I we given almost the third degree. "Where did you get this number?"...., "I am one of gods creatures that does not agree or support 0870 or 0845 numbers and as such, prefer to use geographical numbers".........."in that case, I will deal with the nature of your enquiry".

Having said that, I was tied up in revenue questions, and feel a visit to our local office coming on.
