Regretably, no one is perfect these days, and also there is another expression " It's good to talk " even if it does meaning writing!  I do believe that I have had a good search, and I only put this subject on, just in case someone knew.  I will now refrain from adding any more items / requests on this site.

Thank you.

There are several Wanadoo geographical numbers listed on both the verified, and unverified lists. Also if you search the forums for the last 150 days you will find several useful threads on this matter.

Title: Wanadoo ISP number
Post by Joannec on Sep 12th, 2005 at 8:25am
Hello - what a brilliant site this is!!!  Keep up the good work.

I am currently with Wanadoo on 56k modem.  The number I dial is an 0845 number.  Anyway, just had phone bill and could do with finding a geographic number for the ISP as I get free calls at the weekend and in the evening, which is the only time I go online.

I have searched the verified and unverified numbers and have done a search of the forums.  I've tried all the 0808 numbers shown on one of the threads which do work but when it got to verifying the user name and password, my call was rejected and disconnected.  These numbers must be just for wanadoo staff.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Joanne

Welcome.

There are a few threads on Wanadoo/Freeserve (some even asking for same as what you requested) but none of them had a true successful outcome I'm afraid.

DaveM, had the following numbers though:-
Wanadoo/Freeserve         0808 9916001
Wanadoo/Freeserve         0808 9916080
Wanadoo/Freeserve         0808 9916163
Wanadoo/Freeserve         0808 9916164

I assume these numbers are the ones you've tried.  Did you also release your number assuming your number is withheld?  If it is withheld then do 1470 before dialling it will release your number.

These numbers must be for those that pay a monthly fee for unlimited and so it may be possible that after they check your username/password their system indicates you are dialling the wrong dial-up number and cuts you off.

Yes, these are the numbers I've tried but I'm pay as you go, not the free weekend and evening settings.

Ah well, I'll have to go back to broadband when my new computer arrives!

NO !  You either want to save money or you don't. If you're getting rid of it, you could donate it to this site by PayPal - contact Daniel (admin).

What you do is to sign up for a BT PAYG account then you can use the dial-up number for them, and save yourself a shedload if as you say, you don't use it too much. Don't forget, with certain Telco's, you have to put the international code, +44 (drop the zero) & the rest of the dial-up. They have ISP Lookup lists and will automatically charge you at the 0845 rate otherwise. There are a couple of others in the list if you're not keen on BT.

You should be able to pick up your mail on the Wanadoo account by using webmail or whatever.    ;D

Title: Orange internet pay-as-you-go numbers
Post by Spike on Aug 22nd, 2007 at 11:07am
I'm looking for a way to access the internet via Orange Pay-As-You-Go, cheaper.

The numbers are 0844 058 7000 or 0844 056 4000.

I have tried using 18185, but it doesn't support 0844 numbers. I get calls to 01 and 02 numbers free, so if there's an alternative number out there...

Thanks,

Spike.

Emphasis must go on pay in pay-as-you-go here. This is a legitimate use of such numbers and finding an alternative 01/02 number would mean that you aren't paying for the service. That said, there is an ongoing thread on 01/02 numbers for ISPs here.

Try www.geoisp.co.uk. What provider are you with for inclusive calls?

I had my gas and electric with British Gas. They had an offer on to switch the phone to them and get free evening and weekends to 01 and 02 numbers.

This was then bought by talk talk or onetel - I think they're both the same now.

When I did the switch, there was no time limit on the free calls. When my bird did it a couple of months later her calls were free for the 1st hour only. She made a fuss, but go no joy.

I'm now in the situation whara I daren't do anything to upset the phone provider for fear of losing the unlimited times.

Spiek. (Feeling German today).

Primus Saver Option 2 CPS gives free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls of up to 90 minutes for £0.00 per month.

After having my post moved into this thread, reading it, and doing a little searching on the internet, I've found three ISPs that you can use simply by configuring a dialer that have 0845 numbers. You don't even need to sign up. Combine this with 18185 and you've got 0.5p/min eves and weekends, and 3p/min daytime. That'll do me!  :)

...and don't forget to make it your 'best friend' if you are with BT and you get it even cheaper. (20%?)

Spike is going to call these through 18185, so including the number(s) on BT's Friends and Family will make no difference.

Seems rather expensive to me.
