Just trying it out, seems to be a SLIGHT improvement in quality,(you do get a choice, dial up or broadband) and prices are lower again, but we know how they flucuate now and again..

Good going though, its 2 minutes of free talktime per call, not 1 as mentioned on site..

have a wee read at their T&C, something interesting came up..

Article 4. Permission to Utilize

4.1 Permission to utilize Your computer. In order to receive the benefits provided by the VoIPCheap Software, you hereby grant permission for the VoIPCheap Software to utilize the processor and bandwidth of Your computer for the limited purpose of facilitating the communication between You and other VoIPCheap Software users.

A fair game I reckon, but if this is the same as how skype works, I hope many more people start to use it, as calls on skype are far superior. (must be the P2P technology)

Im off to pay my euro ;) a fair deal I reckon.

Thanks bj ;D

I've downloaded this but when I click "create new user" it pops up an error box without even trying to connect to server.  it says "we can not carry out your registration request due to an unknown error".

I emailed voipcheap to ask about this and got no reply.

Anyone had this problem or any remedy? ::) ;D

Have I downloaded the wrong software or something?

I have Norton INternet Pro, Microsoft Antispyware and of course the usual Windows Security running but I don't see why this should prevent it connecting to make a new account.

I also haven't heard from the company regarding this fault >:(

Do you have an account with their sister service www.voipbuster.com ?  If you do you can't register the same user name.

Nope I don't have any other accounts as this is the first time I'm trying VoIP.  Funny enough it allows me to sign in using an existing username and password but just won't let me register a new name.  If someone wants to set up an account for me, please PM me; I'd appreciate it ;D

Alternativelty, what if I try to download it again and hope the software isn't screwed up this time?  I'm positive it isn't my PC :-[ :'(

Hi ! I have just found this site and read "Smashers and Nutellajunkies " comments. Not ten minutes ago did I get the same response as Smasher  from VOIPcheap and thinking on Nutellajunkies comments do you think that  we are refused because our PC's are in "stealth mode" behind our firewalls?

Welcome to SayNoTo0870 ;D

What software are you running?  I'm using Win XP Pro (Service Pack 2) with Norton Internet Pro and Microsoft Antispyware.

I've configured these to allow/permit voipcheap.

Do you get the error message as soon as you press the ok button to register?  Then does it try to register then give the same error message again after a few seconds?

Hi there! I am running XP Pro, SP2, MS antispyware, Avast AV, and Zone alarm firewall, Prevx intrusion Prevention and Spyware Blaster amongst other things.
It seems to do exactly as you describe!

I have tried a couple of times to get registered as my daughter has gone to live in Portugal, so I suppose that I shall have to pay 1899 for my calls, still it is cheap enough I suppose

This has really come on in leaps and bounds. You can call loads of countries for free, you get a free inbound number if you want one - it gave me an 0161 number - I don't know if that was a happy coincidence or if it 'knew' I was in Manchester.

The call quality is amazing - I am using a USB 'phone' connected to my PC.
