Hi
Does anyone have any comments about broadband services from Tiscali or Virgin. I know Virgin don't require a 12 month contract, but have doubts about their customer service. I think Tiscali's prices are very similar buit they require a 12 month contract, but I believe customer service is very good? Thanks Dave :) |

Try these people... I have been using them for a while now. I found Tiscali intermittently slow (sometimes not even working). BT just freekin sh:te, and the support staff from Metronet just plain rude (to the extent he called me an idiot who should stop wasting his time!)
Now with Prodigynet. Their customer service is top and so is the speed and reliability. AND only £14.99/month for up to 8K connection! http://www.prodigynet.co.uk/menu.php?page=adsl&home=true |

ooo errrr...Sh:t the bed "only a 2gb limit"
well, thats fine for most people, and at only £1.49 for each extra gig, its still a good price. ...... If not then you go for one of the unrestricted accounts! phwooor - that was hard! :o |

Im on talk talk, I am on a package which even the talktalk customer service people dont know how I got on it.
£14.99 a month for 512k plus talk2 for free (£5 credit on landline bill for talk2) AND THEN I get a further £5 credit on my broadband bill listed as "Customer Loyality Credit". So I get 512k broadband for £9.99 a month!! With unlimited download cap. I download and upload a lot, to the point where I get a phonecall from talktalk every other month asking me to curb my downloads. Well I do download around 10GB a month! |

The best I have found is Zen. 3 month contracts and real ip address's.
I have yet to find anyone who is ahappy by many of these overloaded services. Would be interested in what Tesco users think. You really should also understand this formula to Real Speed = Burst speed (what everybody quotes but shouldn't) divided by contention ratio. Some say that the true contention ratio of BT is greater than advertised, but there is no way to prove it. |

I used to be with virgin but a while back switched to a homecall package, for 24.99 a month i get 512kb broadband unlimited downloads, plus unlimited local, national calls 24/7,service seems good but just recently i was "cut off for overusage" a call to the disconnections dept sorted that one out,now it seems all users are monitored with a "list"of overusers being generated every thursday,if your unlucky enough to get on it you get disconnected for 7 days (Sunday to Sunday).Tiscali is their(homecall) provider.
Homecall say normal usage allowance is around 1gb a day!. |
