Title: Royal Mail Delivery Offices now use 0845! Post by Smasher on Aug 17th, 2005 at 5:46pm
I was away this morning and got a "While you were out" for a registered letter but this time the number to dial for arranging delivery was an 0845 number. :o
Luckily I remember my local delivery office number from memory ;D but be on guard and note down the geographical number of your local office before they all switch. ::) I've added my local delivery office number to be verified but I can confirm that 01905 724100 is the correct number as I've just phoned it :D, so one of the Daves can add it to the database ;D |

Thanks for that warning.
Does anyone know where I can find the number on royalmail's website for our local delivery office? I've just tried searching their site and it didn't get anywhere. I'm asking because I'm going to store the number for future use now but unfortunately can't remember the geographical number. |

I first noticed this about three weeks ago, luckily I had the geographical number for the local sorting office stored on the computer. ;)

I doubt that they will have completely rejigged their internal PostLine network and so local DDI should still work and a helpful postie may transfer you.
After all you want to talk to the Local Delivery Office and not some ??? in customer "service", who would not know a customer if they met one (how do they cope outside the office, with shopping, voting and so on?), nor understand service. (Sorry, rant over) |

Your local Royal Mail office should still be listed in the Phone Book - I always keep the book for a couple of years to keep track of the "old" Geographic numbers!
Not particuarly Hi Tech, but it works ;D Tony |
