A 192.com search revealed a lot of companies named Motorola but I believe 0131 479 1297 may be their number as 192.com states that they manufacture mobile phones.

If this is motorola then it's likely to be a switchboard, etc and they may transfer you.

If it isn't, do you have an address for their head office to help us further?

A search of BT.com DQ at the same address brings up (0131)  4696969.

Update: A google search of motorola's website for geographical numbers brings up this page.  It has a lot of geographical numbers on it.

I would try the above number or 01256 790790 and see where this gets you.

have not tried the for a while but here goes
0500555555  0800774477  head office  01256790790  could still be switch board  01314696969  to get to call centra manager the numbers are about 5 years old try if no good i have some more let us know how you get on thanks

The following two numbers lead to their head office.  A very unhelpful miserable girl answers the phone (or did twice):
01256 790790
0131 479 1297

0500555555: "Our number has now changed to 0870..."
0800774477: seemed to be Motorla call centre - but said for repairs must call 08712313233 (a different number!!!)

Ok i have a freind who used to work in call centre but still works for them doing a dif job have phoned her and asked her to phone me could be monday now i will ask her for a dif number if there is 1 if may be a back door in!! watch this space  :)

Thanks.  If your friend only thinks its the 0870 then can you ask what is the address(s) where the call centre(s) is/are based for answering calls regarding mobiles out of the ones listed here?

This would give us a starting point as to possibly what numbers to try.

Alternatively, possibly a number for a collegue/manager in the actual call centre as this would also give us an idea of what telephone numbers they use and we could try numbers nearby until we found one that was the call centre and not a manager, etc.

Does this make sense?

Remember, you'd be surprised at just how many people aren't aware that most 084x/087x numbers have an alternative geograhical number so your friend may not have an idea at all.

08712313233 is Motorola's repair contractor.

Thanks. I've added an entry for this. The customer services (in places called "customer support") number is now 0871 641 2130, so I've listed this and the 0870 number in the entry.

Motorola's UK offices are listed here. This gives geographical numbers for them.
