I'm trying to find information on 0870 7779555 that someone has offered as the Jessops Insurance Claim Damage Assessment Dep't, as I'm unable to trace this number.

I'm NOT looking for an alternative for the Damage Assessment Dep't (0116 2326111), or even the Insurance Claim Dep't (0116 2324960) !

The 0870 could be something to do with Legal & General who underwrite the insurance.

Having just rung this 0870 from my contract (thankfully includes inclusive mins to 084x/087x) I just got a non-descriptive message asking to input the extension number required, or hold for assistance.  Holding just gave me another message saying they were busy and leave a message or call back later (not sure which one).

As this was out of office hours, I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can speak with a human (or alien - I'm not that fussy really.  lol).

The 0870 777 9555 number is indeed Jessops and provides you with the following options to choose from:-

1. If you making an insurance claim, or a Jessops Store
2. If you are a insurance company, work for Jessops, or a repair service
0. If it isn't a department you are after

I pressed option 0 and got through to switchboard (geo alternative 0116 232 6000).  I did a google search of their website for anything with 0870 in it and nothing came up.  It could be they are planning to move to 0870 or that number is only released when you take insurance out or have a problem with their products.  The Contact Us area of their website generally use online forms instead of phone numbers except for switchboard only queries.
