Title: 0870 weekday calls - 4ppm - best deal?
Post by Victor Delta on Sep 17th, 2005 at 5:10pm
Has anyone tried out 18185 www.18185.co.uk (sister company of 1899 and 18866) and used them for calls to 0870 numbers? According to the website, their weekday (& evening) rate for such calls is 4ppm (plus 4p connection charge). This is just over half the rate charged by most of the other 'cheap' providers and, as far as I know, the best rate since 3U realised what they were doing... Unless, of course, anyone knows a better rate?

Interestingly, their 0845 rate is not so competitive at 3ppm - in fact, it works out more expensive than BT!

I use them, yes they do charge 4p a min at all times to call 0870 numbers, if you really  have to ring them.So they are the cheapest provider of peak rate calls to 0870 numbers from a landline at the moment.(Connection charge of 4p applies).Bt are cheaper at evening and weekends.

They are also cheaper then Bt for calls to 0845 at peak rate from a landline, are they not. They are not the cheapest though at peak rate www.dialwise.co.uk and www.dialwise.co.uk offer calls through a dial through 0844 access number at 2p a minute.BT are still the cheapest at  evening and weekends for these calls.

Thanks. Agree with everything you say except on one issue.

For peak rate 0845 calls, BT and 18185 both charge 3ppm. But with a 4p connection charge, 18185 is actually more expensive per call (BT has minimum call charge of 5p but no connection charge).
