Read this article in The Register yesterday.Where they quote the CEO of BT Wholesale, saying that prices should fall further.

Except for disguised Premium number NGNs with call queuing - of course?

He obviously wasn't thinking of Ofcom and the outrageous scam they allow Mr Reynolds and his BT colleagues to pull in respect of charges for 084 and 087 NGNs + 070 PNS numbers! The only change Ofcom have made is to allow BT to charge its telecoms competitors even more for terminating calls to its numbers than it charges BT Retail. Ofcom are so useless they haven't even banned the use of the terms "National Call/Rate" or "Lo-Call/Local Rate" in the context of 0870 and 0845 numbers. Mr Reynolds also can't have been thinking of the pricing arrangements between BT Wholesale and BT Phonebox division where due to BT Wholesale still charging BT Phonebox divisions the same prices 24/7 customers still have to pay 11p per minute to call an 0870 from a phonebox at the weekend - this compares with 1.5p per minute from a landline. Old proverb say that man from BT speak with forked tongue. ::) |
