I turned on my computer tonight to find that my internet connections for dialup are all changed to the following number.  I am the only person to use the computer so i want to find the company of this NGN.  The number 0871 090 5872.  I cannot find it.

Looks like someone may have possibly downloaded a rogue dialler on to you.Beware. ;)

Contact them, and in the circumstances they will probaly tell you who the renter is.

Thanks for the advise.  I will se what happens.  Any advise on getting rid or what file to search for.

I called the telecom1 and after being put on hold after 15seconds (each time) by the receptionist I finaly got a call back from the company and they say that the company that they operate the 0871 number is currently under investigation as other people are reporting the same thing.  They have said that I will have to send them a bill for the 0871 calls that are being made and they will send me a check  ;D Free internet for a bit cannot be bad.

Agreed, it can't be bad!!

But only if you use PAYG internet calls.  This means instead of paying 0844/0845, you instead pay 0871, which is then refunded.

If you pay a monthly fee, for unmetered internet use, you still pay this monthly fee, but make less use of what you've already paid for.  In reality, the main beneficiary of this is your normal ISP, who provides less internet than what would normally be required.

Also, when you send off your bill for the 0871 calls, remember to add on something to take account of your printing, photocopying, and postage costs.

yes dont forget to add postage costs, packing costs (envelope/paper), cost of the original phone calls to their stupid receptionist.

Theyll prob ask for a copy of the bill where you were charged for the 0871's, enclose a photocopy of your bill and blackout any other calls and times and stuff.
