Don't know, but you might be a lot better off signing up with BT Internet for Dial Up Internet access ;)

You will need to Search Forums for previous posts about the Virgin.net dial-up number. Don't forget to change the Max Age since last post: box from 7 to 300

Also if you Search the Database for British Gas you will find LOADS of numbers to try.

Just follow the links I've supplied above.

Also please only put ONE request in each post. As you can see from this, I've deleted the British Gas request from it.

Unfortunatly there are no geographical numbers for the Pay As Yo Go Dial up. If Your A Heavy User I would suggest broadband plan 2 @ 17.99. 2mb and 6gb monthy download allowance  ;D

So James

Do you happen to know the Geo Landline number for the Main Switchboard, and any other Geo numbers you have would also be useful, ie. Fax, Accounts, Personnel, anything really ! I can then search around for others that may be relevant.

Thanks

Title: 08450451118 Is NOT Technical
Post by James_Middlesbrough on Mar 6th, 2006 at 9:19pm
the 08450451118 number posted as an alternate number for virgin.net broadband technical support. The 08450451118 is migrations line, and most agents manning this line, are fresh out of training and havnt got a clue on tech.

It will also not get you through to 24seven tech or PAYG tech.

08450451118 is based at fujitsu in newport

PAYG & 24seven Tech are at Garlands in middlesbrough

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but any 0845 or 0870 number in virgin, will redirect you to 0906 for technical support. Its trained to us that we cannot support on local or national rate

Enjoy  :)

then give us the 01/02 number.

In fact steal an internal telephone directory for NTL and paste the contents on here.

Hi,

I work for Virgin.Net technical Support in Newport.

The number for reception is 01633 670000
The Fax number is 01633 670100

If you call reception and say you have premium rate numbers barred from your line they will put you through to tech support.

Title: Virgin.net Technical Support
Post by bankhead on Jun 12th, 2007 at 7:04pm
Forgive me if this question has been asked before, this is my first visit to this excellent forum.
My 77 year old father is using Virgin pay as you go and has a problem with the connection. I tried everything to fix it but it seems the problem is at Virgin's end. The only help number to contact them is 0906 2170003 which is a premium number. Anyone or most who are on PAYG do so because they can't afford to pay a monthly fee so to make a helpline a premium number is scandalous.
Anyway, enough of my ranting, is there an alternative number he can use ?
I appreciate any help on this as I live 120 miles from dad and can't phone myself as I need to be in front of his computer.

It's not scandalous because technical support has to be paid for and you already admit that they have no monthly contract as they are pay as you go. If the problem is at Virgin's end, then they should sort that at normal telephone rates.

I have joined your thread to the existing one, and if you look back to reply #14 you will find a number for Newport's reception where technical support is based.

If you have technical problems, I suggest that you ask on The Scream! Forums or MoneySavingExpert.com Forums, Techie section.

What's the problem?

Yes, may I recommend a 18185 account and http://www.geoisp.co.uk/ - that way he'll pay 5p for internet access at any time of the day or night and no further charges.

Excuse me? What are you talking about?

You expect something for nothing in so much as you believe technical support should be free. You say it's scandalous, and I commented on this. I say again, if the problem is at their end, then it should be a normal rate telephone call, if the problem is at your end, then it is fair to charge for technical support.

I then suggested a couple of websites where people may help you for free.

Finally, I asked what the problem is as I believed someone on here might be able to solve it for free !!!

You have not responded to this, and after giving you the chance of help for free you suggest I have an "attitude". Yes, go and call that 0906 number and sort out your problem !!!

You can't help some people........  ::)

Maybe I read your reply wrongly and if so, I apologise.
You say if the problem is at their end the call should be at normal rate, there is no normal rate, the premium number is the only number available hence my original question.
