Please help. My friend has been trying to call the Security Industry Authority (aka SIA) for the last few days on their 0870 number. They have left him on a queue on average 20 mins each time without getting through. Very annoying indeed. His job depends on him contacting them, so please help. :( >:(

A Google of "SW1H 0SA" gives a telephone of [glb]020 7227 3600[/glb] and fax of 020 7227 3601. That's from this link on SIA's site!

My senses tell me it's probably switchboard, so give them a ring an see if they will put you through.

The Google results also show someone's direct number as 020 7227 3672, so it looks as though they have numbers beginning 020 722736xx.

Do you know where the 0870 number is answered from, Newcastle, London or somewhere else?

Thanks ever so for finding the geo number for The Security Industry Authority (SIA) the contact number for their Helpline you both provided is  0207227 3600. This number was answered promptly without going through to their switchboard and they were able to deal with queries immediately.  Much more preferable to their 08702430100 which is left on hold for ages before a human voice responds.

Strange how Ofcom's current NTS consultation forgot to compare queuing time differences between the geographic and non geographic number on precisely the same call centre helpline.  Are Ofcom just amateurs or were they trying to spin the outcome of the consultation their way I wonder. ::)

Presumably queuing will be part of a separate consultation - with three days for response?

The London number (0207 227 3600) no longer works. It says 'its been changed to 0207 0254 100. When you call that number they say my details are stored in the computers at newcastle. I have to call the newcastle number which they give as 0870 243 0100  :( . Can anyone help?

Although not an address, this page goes some way to answering the question of where the PO Box goes and where the 0870 number goes.

The SIA have a London geographic number which works but whether they can deal with Newcastle related questions, or transfer the call to Newcastle, I don't know.  It may be worth trying it though:

It may help if you say that 0870 numbers are barred by the switchboard your call is going through and ask the operator for a transfer.

Just a reminder to any of those who havent seen the rest of the thread: im looking for the geographical for the SIA (Security Industry Authority) on 0870 243 0100. If any1 has a clue, do pls let me know. Neither 0207 227 3600 or 0207 0254 100 are the one im looking for. the location is somewhere in newcastle.

As I mentioned above, the Newcastle address is a BT office/contact centre. It will have many other customers and thus there will be many underlying geographical numbers for various companies. It/they will not be published anywhere so I think that unless a BT insider can tell us, then you won't find it. The only other alternative is to dial a few million 0191 numbers allocated to BT, and even then we can't be 100% that it will be there.

I have mapped the numbers at the London office. They start at 020 7025 4100, which as we know is the switchboard. I tried upto 020 7025 4299. Most answer with personalised voicemail. Andy Drane, the acting Chief Executive can be contacted on 020 7025 4175.

Some other numbers of management are below. I have researched their position by searching the website for their name. All numbers start 020 7025 4xxx:
