I know how to insert a web address into a post but how do you make a word or sentence ITSELF a link to a web address? Thanks in anticipation.

Simple .... creating the link, not you, of course! lol

gives:

click here

With the new forum software all links are automatically in bold, so there is no need to use bold tags around the address.

IE, there is no need to include the b and /b in square brackets, like this example here:

Code (]click here

So enter the following:

Code (][url=http://www.google.co.uk/):

click here[/url]

I've just discovered that the [link] tag can be used instead of the [url] one if you want the link to open in the same window.

So:

Code (]

gives:

[url=http://www.google.co.uk/]Google

which opens in a new window. And

Code (][link=http://www.google.co.uk/):

Google[/link]

gives:

Google

which opens in the current window.
