What a good idea, DaveM, that you suggest in the reply you made about site income etc (in the now-locked thread, 'Website Advertising-Huh').

It would be a great bit of publicity if Martin could invite Daniel onto one of his TV progs.  It would surely be relevant in a 'money-saving' context - and would help the 0870 cause immensley.

Daniel would never show himself on TV! This site makes far too much money for him to leave it and get riduculed over the "true reasons for the site".

For every user that signs up to the 'free' xbox offer, the owner of the advert gets around £5. Those googleads at the bottom earn around $0.50 per click.

Daniel even failed to send in his own response to the NTS Way Forward consultation (as did Martin Lewis) even though under pressure he did eventually encourage other site members to do so.

Dave has sent in a response though.

Im sure daniel has "other" reasons for keeping this site up and running.

It isn't "name witheld" and the initial is D for Dave but there are rather a lot of those in the Responses list.

I will send you a PM with the link.  It wouldn't be fair to Dave to publish it here although I'm sure he won't mind the main forum regulars knowing who he is.  Having said that you have always persistently refused to reveal your identity - even to me after two 1 hour long phone calls where you withheld your number.  So I think it would be best if you Pm'ed Dave to see if he is willing to tell you directly.  As he told me directly I doubt he would have a problem as you a well known forum regular and clearly not a telco mole.  For all I know Dave may need to keep his identity a bit confidential depending who he works for.  Whereas you have no such excuse to be so secretive on your real world id.  You do after all even have a link to your council in your profile. ::)

Now just how many people do you think would be daft enough to actually sign up for the rubbish from the adverts ?! It's one thing clicking on them for link income (gee that's a lot!) but who the he!! wants to actually buy the stuff !!

Presumably quite a  number of the people who visit the site buy the stuff.

I'm sure Daniel doesn't have them there to boost the campaign or the look of the site so they must be there for financial reasons surely? :-X

1000 clicks at 50 cents is 500 dollars.  And how many visits a day are there to this site to look up phone numbers..........................
