Title: Interesting reply from a numpty at Primus Post by saynonto0871 on Nov 29th, 2005 at 7:08pm
I could not find the rates for 087X & 084X numbers on Primus so I dropped them an email as follows:

And got this reply: Quote:
Somehow someone's got their decimal places all wrong on the 0871 & 0844 quote & even if you do correct the decimal places it makes them the same cost as 0870 & 0844 which can hardly be correct. How is anyone expected to know the real cost of call & how NGNs work when even the carriers own staff don't know? :o Needless to say, I've requested clarification ;) |

I think it's this - on 0871 move the decimal point one place to the right - 0871's are borderline PREMIUM RATE (see OFCOM's comments) so expect this to be a big earner. Unless of course that IS what you would pay as a customer, but moving the decimal point would then show what the CALLER pays....
Just a guess . . . |

That cannot be right because 0871 has different charging bands ranging from 6p to 10p a minute.

OFCOM - If you're monitoring this site as much as we suspect, I hope you're reading this thread
;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) This is just one more example of how most of us can get bamboozled by the overly complicated and overpriced NGNs. I know this suggestion is commonplace in these circles but why not move revenue sharing to the '09' range where there's greater clarity and consumer protection and charge the 087x/084x at geographic rates! Not only would this provide a fairer system, it would be considerably easier to understand! PS I'm afraid I can't help with the original post as I'm as confused as the rest of us!!! :-[ |
