Title: tiscali and there smart talk calls
Post by tiscali_man on Dec 2nd, 2005 at 5:28pm
ok im here to clear up any queries on tiscali ok ill start with there broadband after i just say one thing ok well i work in the sudbury callcentre selling tiscali to people ok

first of the 0845 and 0870 numbers are not owned by tiscali they are owned by BT, BT are the ones that set there prices on those lines

then people do have to wait up to 15 days in total to recieve there kit yet the reason its like thatt is because BT take there time to send a engerneer to the local xchange so that takes a week ok then BT when told a client is moving from BT to tiscali BT try there hardest to stop them

yet once you just your kit you can start to see wat a great deal you have tiscali have brought the order chacing line back to england and they are also planning on bringing every thing back to the UK yet in january tiscali are bringing out wireless packages and the delivery time should be faster

if you need help or advise just leave me a message and ill try and help

I am sorry but i am a little confused here,Can you clarify.

Are you talking about what it costs to call an 0845/0870 number outbound using Tiscali Smart Talk? Or are you referring to the inbound 0845/0870 numbers they use.

If you are talking about Outbound calls using the Smart Talk Servive.Tiscali being the provider of the service dictate the price of the calls not BT.

Inbound i was under the impression they had their own allocation of 0870 numbers, and that their 0845 service was provided by Energis now Cable and Wireless. So  they rake in the all the money from the 0870 calls not BT. Unless you know different.

As for their Broadband Service i dont personally use it,but have read many complaints about it on net.

Hi tiscaliman, I too understand that BT sometimes push their luck in the "naughty tricks" department.  [smiley=shocked.gif]

Say you already have line rental with Tiscali.  I do know that it might be hard enough getting the line rental switched across (naughty, naughty BT), but let's just assume that that particular mountain has been climbed.

Now you want broadband as well.  Can Tiscali successfully provision broadband through BT Wholesale in this situation?  Or do BT Wholesale automatically reject the provisioning request to Tiscali?

I should very much like to know your experience on this. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Sonny

It is not possible to move your line rental from BT to Tiscali, because Tiscali do not offer line rental. They just offer call packages via CPS.

Tiscali Man.  Are you actually from Tiscali?

I found your post on the subject to be of very poor grammar and spelling.

And of course lack of knowledge about providing rental as well!!

This guy has got to be a fake!!  Unless of course this is the standard we can expect from Tiscali.  I found your service to be appaling back in the days when you took over from WorldOnline (I think that was what it was called)

I do know that it might be hard enough getting the line rental switched across (naughty, naughty BT), but let's just assume that that particular mountain has been climbed.

But later you admit

tiscali cant provide line retal yet only cheep calls

I see you have conveniently edited your post which contains the first statement!!

And I think you have missed the point with our complaints about 0870 and 0845 numbers with Tiscali.  We're not expecting you to provide cheaper calls to these numbers, and yes I agree, BT and the owner of the numbers do benefit from it, probably more than Tiscali.

But now you admit that 0870 and 0845 are more expensive and can't offer cheap calls, why do you have customer service on these numbers.  You keep saying that the prices are set by BT, but by choosing these numbers as customer service lines, you're dictating to customers that they should pay a premium to call which you admit is a crap after sales service!!

And your job involves dealing with customers, and taking orders etc if I'm right.  What is the entrance exam to work in your Sudbury office?  Last year I went for a job in a call centre but failed the interview, however I passed the first stage, which was a literacy, spelling, numeracy, and typing test, which I'm pretty sure by the standard of your grammar and punctuation you would fail.

Perhaps if Tiscali were more selective over their employment process, there might be better customer serivce!!

1. As already pointed out on this thread, i think you will find that Tiscali actually own the block of 0870 numbers they use. So all the revenue would go to them would it not?

2. The words Touch,Barge, and Pole come to mind..Have a  look at this site!!!

Sorry but is this the standard we have come to expect from tiscali? Poor grammer, how the hell did you pass that test? Was the interviewer blind?
"doing a one week deal witch is" its actually which but never mind as tiscali dont seem to employ people who understand the english lang.

Take time in typing your posts, it will make you look a lot better and we would more likely belive your posts. Personally I think your a fake trying to get 'credit'.

Give us somthing to proove that you really are from Tiscali, such as the GN for your call centres.

Hi mc661, afraid I must point out several errors, both in grammar and punctuation, in your own last reply ;) ;)
'grammEr';  its- without a '; dont should be don't;  belive is missing an e; your instead of you're, and prove has only one o.

But then I caught on to your plan - YOU are wanting a job at Tiscali and are getting in some practice for their tests. ;) ;)
Agree with your post though!

Such wisdom in truly splendid Queen's English, could we enquire if 'crappity' is being used as an adverb in this particular context?
A true student of Tiscalispeak!!!

Hey Giuseppi you sure you aren't from Sardinia like Tiscali's management? ;) ;D

http://investors.tiscali.com/tiscali/TheCompany/board.jsp?cat=2&sub=68&lang=

The way you write it certainly sounds like you are Italian ;)

Or does your standard of English only confirm my worst fears about the kind of people who work in call centres?  Where exactly did you work before Tiscali suddenly called you a salesman?  Did you perhaps work at MacDonalds or as a Traffic Warden. ;)

You've fallen for the forum's automatic censorship tool trap there firestop.

If you hit 'Quote' on his post (or this one, for that matter), you'll see that the 'crappity smack' you are seeing was not what was actually typed (the 'ing' was but the 'crappity smack' needs to be replaced by a familiar Anglo Saxon 4-letter word).

Mr Tiscali man

As asked my mc661

Give us somthing to proove that you really are from Tiscali, such as the GN for your call centres.

And your reply is:

i work at a tiscali call centre and the package i was talking about thats 1mb broadband plus the anytime saver was 19.99 and for one week only it will be priced at 17.98 and that price is cheaper that are 2mb braodband which is priced at 17.99 if you dont beleave me then ask me a question about tiscali sales ect

cancelations = 0845 077 4488

Now anyone can get this info from the paper.  Do you understand what geographic number means.  It means a number that starts with 01/02 that costs nothing to some people, whereas your 0870 number costs money and earns Tiscali money as well!!

As for knowing how calls are answered, anyone who has called Tiscali knows that!!  And the special deal on broadband is probably advertised on the net, or in a National newspaper.

And why are you in a rush to type this.  Surely taking care with your grammar will make your posts more credible and earn more respect from us, and we can then attack the validity of your points you raise instead of your grammar.

Given this gentleman's very poor command of the English language and his equal conviction that Tiscali allegedly offer broadband, rather than something that is in reality little better than an always on modem speed connection, I personally have no doubt whatsoever that he works for Tiscali.

After all anyone who could actually spell properly or  had a conscience would have resigned from Tiscali within their first week on the job. ::)

Prolog call centre info is here http://www.prolog.uk.com/services/contact_centre.html

Also click on Tiscali Case Study.

I was surprised to find out their call centre staff were hand picked? and they had a brand knowledge second to none!!! ;D

So I assume this means they are careful to ensure that their staff are always one up from the bottom of the heap? ;)
