AN AM was yesterday cleared of breaking the official code of conduct when she accused doctors of trying to make "a fast buck" with a surgery's national rate phone number.

Ogmore AM Janice Gregory claimed Pencoed Medical Centre's 0870-code number was a "nice little earner". The surgery said the comments had "no basis in fact".

A report by AMs on the Assembly's standards of conduct committee says: "Taking account of all of the evidence provided to them and the representations which had been made, members concluded Janice Gregory had not breached the code of conduct."
