A search of 192.com nationwide for reliable collections brings up one result in Manchester, but at a different address:

• The address i gave was the one registered at Companies House.
  
• The address you gave is the one on their pre paid envelopes.

• I rang the number and the human answered "Hello J. D. Williams".
  
• After explaining who i wanted he told me i had rang the wrong number and offered me the 0870 num.
  
• Eventualy he told me he was at security and that after the holidays there would be someone in the office.

These people are the In House debt collection agency for J D Williams a large mail order company,who trade under numerous brand names.  J D Williams Main Geo number is 0161 238 2000.

Phoned 0161 236 8256 today about a letter we received. Was told not the number and they offered a Non geographical number.

I asked "Have you got a Geographical number please."
The woman said "Yes 0161 2383 558 is customer servives."

Got through sorted everything out.  It appears that several letters are going out to customers a day before due date saying twice the agreed amount and service charge because payment date missed.

They blamed the Christmas post, but the letters were sent out before the due date.

Ring up and say you have a complaint and they fob you off with "sorry can't transfer you".

Ring up and say you want to make a payment and they transfer you !!!!!!!!

This one is really doing me 'ead in here >:( >:(

I dialled 0161 2383 558 given above and also 0161 236 8256 with no luck!  The latter got me to a service centre recorded message telling me to redial on the O870 number...  the first number took me to a receptionist who also told me to redial on the 0870 number.. are they becoming FLY cute?

Have tried most of the numbers now with no luck. If there is an answer they give you the 0870 one. I did try this one from the simply be section 0161 2383610. As advised used 141 and said i was from abroad and she finally transferred me not sure how long that would last though.

Once I got through was told I had a 9 min wait which would have been a joke if I had been ringing 0870. :(

Why is it that every time you pay on time you always get a letter saying your payment is late. and then you get a charge on top, i thought when you pay by standing order it is always on time. >:(

I suggest you adjust your standing order by a couple of days. Why don't you do it by direct debit? That way it will be taken out on time. Direct debit the firm takes the money, standing orders the bank pay the money
