I have just spent 25 pound on a waltec e-zi phone which plugs into your usb port on your computer.
Then there is a company called Voipcheap who let you call any landline TOTALLY FREE ! You can even call most countries abroad for free Even better, if you stick 5 pounds onto your account, you can even have your own personal number with them Its well worth checking as its saving me a fortune www.voipcheap.co.uk |

Hi, this looks interesting and have just had a brief look at their site. Does anyone else know anything about this company, ie how long has it been going, reliability etc. islandman

Having had a look at the site, I have printed off their home page to show around. I'd be interested to know which if any countries you've phoned, do they have a time limit? what is connection like?, sound? is their any guarantee that after they've sold so many headsets, they won't introduce a charge?. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to run'em down, simply gain more info. So many "providers" introduce hidden or increased charges after a period of time.

I note that www.voipstunt.com is similar, but I haven't spotted anything about having to purchase a phone from them.

I have used Voipcheap for a number of months now, no major probs, although sometimes the conn can be a bit iffy, joined when £1 was needed for unlimited UK phone calls and have now used them for about 5 months, don't know anything about purchasing phones from them, just use a mic and headphones or computer speakers.
You can try it for free, but the calls are limited to between 1- 1½ minutes until you put on the credit. As far as I know it is run by Finarea SA. which is the same company that runs 18866,1899,18185. |

I have been guilty of doing what has often irritated me by others. That is I have posed questions instead of looking via seach. Times when I see people do that, I think "hey, what's the search feature for?", and here I am doing just that. I will go now, or in the morning and have a look at what has been written before and hope it's not too out of date.

I have had 10.00 credit on my account for over 5 months.
As long as you only call landlines and not mobile phones, your 10 pound credit will remain active It is a very small price to pay for free calls bigjohn wrote on Jan 5th, 2006 at 3:27pm:
