Title: Wanadoo and other voip issuing 0845 and 0870 no's Post by dby416 on Mar 5th, 2006 at 4:31pm
Why is it not possible for ALL voip providers to issue geographic numbers for voip.(especially when they have the geographic allocations there to issue out)
When they issue incoming numbers as 0845xxxxxx and 0870xxxxx it's of no benefit to the voip customer because these people will receive a percentage of each incoming call. Wanadoo's voip offering is apparently free to Broadband Plus and Broadband Max customers. Presently they seem to issue people with a revenue sharing incoming voip number of 0845 xxxxxxxx (not good) They currently have stockpiles of incoming voip numbers for geographic locations e.g Aberdeen 01224 514xxx Birmingham 0121 370 xxxx Are these being issued to wireless and talk customers - and will existing customers on wireless and talk be allowed to change the un geographic like 0845 number to a standard style 01 or 02 number free of charge for using the voip part of the service. 0845 use for voip numbers seems to business like, albeit less so than the 0870, and as geographic numbers are avaialble for voip. 0845 maybe promoted as local, but there's hardly any provider that includes them in bundled minutes and calling from a BT landline would not include an 0845 number as 5p for an hour, it would be charged per minute. Some wanadoo customer service agents say that if you sign up for wireless and talk you will be given an 0845 number for incoming calls , others say you will get a standard 01 number in your own area, others don't have a clue. |
