Title: requesting 01\02 number for 0870 119 0200 Post by ndiqbal on Mar 23rd, 2006 at 3:11pm
Hi This is a National call rate number, which once you dial the number, you can call your destination (International)
Does anyone know the 01\02 number? Please advise. Thanks |

Apart from the fact that you clearly did not follow the 'how to' guidance in red print just above the box you typed in (which would've annoyed regulars), that number, being used as a 'dial-through' access number for overseas calls to Pakistan, is being used legitimately (if a little expensively).
In any case, there are a number (pardon the pun) of cheaper ways to call Pakistan: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/index.php http://niftylist.co.uk/calls/to/pakistan/landline/ |

As it says on the site for the number you quoted:
Quote:
If you were to use an 01 or 02 number instead of the 0870 number, then the company would not receive any money for funding the international call! In other words, it is extremely unlikely that there is an alternative geographic number available for this service. This is in fact a 'legitimate' use of an 0870 number (altho' it would still be preferable to use an 09 number at the same rate), where the call cost is shared with the company in order to provide a real service. Or do you expect them to forward your call to an international destination free of charge?? ::) |
