Title: Tesco Home Phone - have they a problem? Post by John JP on Mar 24th, 2006 at 7:38pm
I recently considered a change to Tesco Home Phone from Tele2 (as was).
When I originally came to this addess I was on NTL and then when I moved from NTL to BT I kept my old NTL number. Tesco Home Phone keep telling me that they cannot accept my application because I have an NTL phone number! :( Surely on something like this as my line is a BT line (well, they keep charging me for it!) there should be no problem for Tesco - or are they as clueless as the appear to be? |

Blocks of 'phone numbers are allocated to different companies. As your line was originally NTL, you presumably have a 'phone number that is in a block of numbers originally allocated to NTL. It would seem that Tesco is looking no further than that, and not considering who is currently supplying the service to that number. In other words, yes, they probably are "as clueless as the appear to be"! ::) |
