I didn't think that you could guarantee getting through to an 0870 from outside.

Unfortunately searching 192.com for businesses called ETAIL yields nothing of any use. However, a Google of the postal code RH1 1FH does. It appears to be (or was) home to International Brand Management Ltd (IBML). It may be that there are several companies in that building, or it may be that IBML has moved out. The numbers I've found by Googling for IBML are telephone 01737 3786** and fax 01737 378699.

But now I'm somewhat peeved to read that you had already tried some of that yourself.  So A.V.N.M. and myself (and maybe others) have wasted their time for you trying things you had already tried?

I've been doing a bit of investigations on google etc, after checking the directory and couldn't find a geo number for sportsdirect.com

Address is: Unit A, Brook Park, Meadow Lane, Shirebrook, NG20 8GY, and 0870 number listed is 0870 042 3879.

I think it should be an 01623 code, but can't crack the ba stard!

As you can see the from the text below the guru that is Dave (the Rave!!) has been stumped as well! Can anyone else help!?

I am trying to get a number for Sports Direct the new name of Sports World. Not much luck. When trolling through the accounts though http://www.sports-direct-international.com/library/AnnualReport2008.pdf shows that International Brand Management Ltd (IBML) is 100% owned subsidiary so maybe you could reinstate that number deleted above.

Also I noted all the telephone numbers in the main database as unverified for Sports World don't work - Chester rings but cut itself off.

Be grateful to hear if anyone can help.

I have just spoken to Field & Trek customer services at
Online Customer Service 0844 800 1001 (24hrs)

Store Customer Service0870 333 9400 (Mon - Fri 9am - 5.30pm)
They are the same people as Sports World/Direct and "dealt" with my complaint.

0844 is a bit better than 0870 so a partial success.

The number you are looking for is 0845 1299230.  They are absolutely rubbish, but at least you get to speak to someone!

That's because, as was shown in another entry, the number is 01268 247007 and it is given by Universal Cycles.

We have looked at Sports Direct a number of times over the years and I have joined it to the existing thread.

Googling reveals that Universal Cycles as purchased by Sports Direct a few years ago. I would urge caution at the likelihood of successfully completing enquiries about Sports Direct by ringing Universal Cycles in Basildon. I am interested to hear any experiences customers have of trying this.

I have removed the unverified entries which linked Sports Direct 0845/0870 numbers with Universal Cycles 01268 number.

I had to contact sports direct today and after trying many numbers I found this on the amazon website as they deal things through them its - 0845 129 9230
I got through after 20 minutes and spoke to someone from sports direct. I hope this helps  :)

I have just successfully rang the unconfirmed number "sports direct       0870 333 9400" and spoken to Customer Services who put me through to the Loughborough shop.  All the shops are listed with 0844 numbers.

Just to clarify you dialed the 0870 number for customer services?

I supposed if you have inclusive calls to 0870 numbers that's one route..

Sadly as yet we still have no 01/02 alternatives for them.

As CJT-80 says, we haven't managed to crack SportsDirect yet, so 0870 remains the best known alternative. I have listed the entry as verified with a note explaining that 0870 may be charged no more than 01/02/03 calls.

UPDATE: Recently I decided to visit a USC store (USC are owned by Sports Direct) and noticed that when checking the store info online USC had an 0344 number.  I then decided to check Sports Direct stores and low and behold they also appear to have changed to 0344 numbers.

Their Customer Service number is: 0344 245 9230, sadly I cannot check if the old 0870 number still works as I do not have calls to 0870 numbers in my tariff.
