The about page says that the site was launched on 3 April 2006 and is the third site from Southern Rock Insurance Company Ltd. The other two being eBike Insurance and eVan Insurance.
Whois of ecarinsurance.co.uk shows that it's registered to E Group Limited, company number 5474804. |

Ebike / car / van/ elf on a unicycle insurance eventually belongs to GroupDirect
http://www.groupdirect.co.uk/groupdirect.pdf Southern Rock Insurance Company Limited is an associated company of Group Direct based in Gibraltar.......... .............Southern Rock underwrites a limited amount of business for Group Direct, and for Hughes and Company in Northern Ireland. They also underwrite eBike Insurance, a new product for Southern Rock administered by eGroup Limited, a Group Direct company. All the phone numbers on their blurb are 0870 http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/81b6dc7c59205b49d782d1fa5739c8cf/compdetails E GROUP LIMITED 21 ST. THOMAS STREET BRISTOL BS1 6JS Company No. 05474804 No obvious number OK so the bit about elf on a unicycle might be wrong. |

Why do you want a geo number as these are freephone numbers? bigsave wrote on Nov 20th, 2007 at 8:19pm:
Is the out of hours service provided by another company or at a different location? Or is it simply because the 634100 number is switchboard and it is closed out of hours and doesn't provide the option of putting the call through automatically? |
Title: Re: Ecar Insurance (Commercial Vehicle Direct Ins' Post by bigsave on Nov 20th, 2007 at 10:13pm 0800 is chargeable calling from a mobile phone. I'll ask them if the service is provided by another company or a different location. 634100 is the number who deal with Commercial Vehicle and will put you through but closed out of office hours. |

You can use the dial through number 020 0222 0700 or 020 0222 0900 to call freephone numbers from your mobile at 01/02 rates. See the thread Calling 0800 nos from my mobile for more information. # Link added to existing thread ~ DaveM |

You should be able to store it in your address book with the 0800 number after it. You will need to insert a pause between the two.
Eg, the entry will read: 02002220700p08001692644 Note that I use 'p' to represent pause in this example. Different manufacturers use different symbols and buttons to input a pause. Nokia uses a p you press * several times until p appears. |

Yes, some cheap call providers also provide a geographic 01/02 number for you to call through. However, they will be pre-pay services (you can't just use them on the whim, you'll need an account). I'm no expert, but check out the "Cheap Call Providers" section for info. |

Yes. Assuming you have free landline calls (and the mobile phone providers don't decide to block access to this number - although I can see no reason for them to want to) then you can use this number to call any freephone number.
