I have missed a call on my mobile from 0844 7705580. I have Googled this number, but I cannot find any matches.

Does anyone know who this is, please?

Two things spring to mind.

Have you considered that, if the call was of an urgent nature, they would have called again by now? Had they done so, receipt of the call would have cost you nothing.

In reality, the call was probably from a firm trying to get you to call them back so they can make money from their cut of the call charge you will pay.

Forget it.

I just got a call from this number. They identified themselves as "Switch 100" and tried to sell me an Orange phone upgrade.

0844 770 numbers cost 5p/minute to call from a BT residential landline - so they probably weren't trying to make the OP call them to make money from the callback (well, not much money anyway).

OTOH, they were trying to sell him a phone!
