Direct Callback
You can choose to make your Voip Stunt calls via your regular phone with the Direct Callback feature. Just enter your home or mobile phone number in the Direct Callback field of the application. You can now decide with each call if you want to place it via the application OR take your call on your regular phone.

With the Direct Callback feature checked, the application will first dial your regular phone number. As soon as you have picked it up, a connection with the number you want to call will be made. The big advantage is that you can make your cheap Voip Stunt calls on your normal phone.

Costs for calling your phone number and the destination number are settled via your Voip Stunt account. You pay the regular Voip Stunt rates as advertised on this website.

I updated my Voipstunt, and found a new service added. Basically add the number where you are and then dial the number you want, and for €0.03 , plus any relevant call charges, you're connected.
Just made a call to the bird in Hungary on her landline. Voipstunt is free to UK & Hungary landlines. I had €10 credit, made the call, had a really clear conversation which seemed better than pc to phone, ended the call and checked my balance. €9.97.
At todays rates 0.03 Euro  = 0.0205929 GBP.
So I can now chat directly abroad for a little over 2p for up to 1 hour. :D

Wow!

Really handy if you don't have a phone SIP adapter and you're normally near (or can be!) your computer when you want to make the call.  (I've already got an ATA adapter...!).

Looked through VOIPStunt's website and can't see why you've even been charged the 3c.  It says that calls to UK and calls to Hungary are both free - which includes no call setup charge.  I must be missing something (to be looking for why you've had a 3c charge!)

Can't find the reason why either, but I know that when you use the actual software to place the call, it shows that you will be charged the 3c.
Also they have changed their allowance again. It is now 300 free mins calculated over a seven day period. NOT weekly or a set 7 days.
So if on day 1 you use 1 min, and on day 7 you use 299 min, you cannot now use the free mins for a further 6 days. ALL mins will now be charges at 1c per min.
Still, 6 hours over any week is good.

It is worth pointing out that the third call made after breaking the news unfortunately suffered some of the problems that we come to recognise with voip, including the "underwater" conversation. So perhaps this new service is not as brilliant as I thoought.
However, one advantage is that you could connect your distant cousins to their further placed friends and relatives at a minor cost, from the comfort of your own home.
Your father's wartime friend has been found in America? No problem, connect the 2 and surprise him!


 

Imagine the schoolboy prank value of this wonderful new service !  Connecting any two people without their even knowing about it !

That should ensure its early demise so make the most of it
