Title: Utility Warehouse

I have found this outfit quite good, and they bundle calls with broadband and really mean it too

You can pay a pound or two more each month and get discounted mobile and international calls too, which helps

I wonder if they are planning to start including non-geos in their price plans?

Utility Warehouse AKA as Telecom Plus.

T-Plus phone packages and line rental are more expensive then other suppliers.

If you just have line rental you still have to pay membership fee of £1.50p a month.
Line rental is cheaper then BT but they  charge for caller display, and BT dont.So this wipes out savings and more.

Call packages are dearer then most providers ,they charge £5 a month for free E&W calls to 01/02 numbers.Other suppliers charge nowt.

TP Mobile and Intl Call charges are not that good.

I have posted recommending Utility Warehouse under another subject a few weeks ago.  We have been with them for over a year now with very few problems (and those were caused by BT & Powergen - we also have our electricity through Utility Warehouse, they do gas as well & give you a bonus depending on the number of services taken on each anniversary).   Any problems we have had were swiftly resolved via a UK based call centre, with compensation offered (I didn't even need to ask!).   We first took them because broadband arrived in our village and I asked the man who supplied our computer for a recommendation.   As you find with insurance etc, it is not always only price which counts but service levels and, from what I have read on this forum about other providers, I am happy with UWDC.

Martin Lewis says:

Quote:
Utility Warehouse.  The multi-utility provider (also called Telecom Plus) has sometime been the cheapest energy provider.  It is a ‘network marketing’ organisation, which means it's sold by current customers, who are paid commission, to their friends and family.

This means its customers often evangelise about its pricing unbeatability, based on marketing info. Yet, this simply isn’t true.  The pricing structure involves discounts the more utility services are taken. However, Telecom Plus’s home phone service especially should be avoided as it is uncompetitive.

This doesn’t mean Telecom Plus can’t be cheapest for standalone gas and electricity.  It is; just not always.  Telecom Plus has three different tariffs.

Clearly quite a few people are not happy with T Plus.

Mortgage Man could well be a Telecom Plus sales agent judging by the tone of his original post.  It sounds awfully like one of those spam emails saying "can I tell you about this really interesting website....................."
