Does anybody have an alternative number for HSBC Customer Credit Services in Swansea. The number that  I have is 0845 600 6423 which nearly always goes through to an Indian Call Centre.

I did manage to find this number 01792 306 210 which goes to a fax machine. Every letter that HSBC Customer Credit Services at Swansea has the following information on it.

The fax machine is based in Sheffield but the office is based in Swansea.

The unverified listing gives 01442 422005 as Customer Credit Services beside the 0845 number you quote. This is a Hemel Hempstead number.

I googled some of the details you supplied, and judging from the response I assume this concerns bank charges.

The postcode S1 2US goes to Pond Hill / Street , Sheffield. 192 has no listing for HSBC at that address.

I'm not sure how you've found that S1 2US goes to the Pond Hill/Street. Then I remembered that the main Royal Mail delivery office is situated on Pond Street, hence that area will probably be S1 1AA. This made me think that it might be a PO Box, but now I'm not so sure.  I have found this page that says it's PO Box 1321.

Multimap shows S1 2US to be the southern end of Pinstone Street, at the juncture with Furnival Gate. Branches in and around Sheffield are listed on HSBC's website here. All have fax numbers starting with 0114 2604/5 which suggests that HSBC has a block of numbers that it uses for branches within the 0114 area.

I Googled hsbc "0114 293" which comes up with a couple of hits.

192.com lists 0114 252 8000 as the number for that address.

S1 2US in Autoroute ends up in the 90 degree angle formed by Pond Hill & Pond St.
Either Multimap or Autoroute is wrong. Possibility it's Multimap as Google Maps points there also.

This page http://www.shu.ac.uk/international/docs/International_Student_Guide.pdf (at page 94) gives HSBC Bank plc, 17 Church Street, Sheffield, S1 1HH, UK.
Autoroute dumps S1 1HH on top of S1 2US. However Church St is about 1/4 mile away. So perhaps all HSBC mail goes to the sorting office and is then delivered at once. A service that businesses can pay for to ensure early delivery.

the closest number i could find was 01792 306000 which goes through to the Swansea Customer Service Centre. Apparently Customer Credit Services work in the same building.
