Does anybody have an alternative number for the company at www.shopacer.co.uk, which is a part of CET UK Ltd.

Their 0870 number is 0870 034 6060 (and a direct line to customer services is 0870 401 5066).

When you ring up, after navigating the meun system, you are played a short piece of music, or occasionally the phone rings 20 times (or you are cut off altogether). Rather than put you in a queue, you are then thrown straight back to the main menu to choose who you want to speak with again. This process is repeated about 20 times until if you are lucky, somebody answers.

I don't think that this has any connections with Easy Computers, also based in Huddersfield and who also have a similar collection of laptop-selling websites and contact numbers for Ireland. Talking of which, you will be better off phoning the Irish number (using a cheap call provider like 1899) than phoning the 0870 number!

A check of 192.com reveals nothing but 0870 numbers. :-X

Googling "cet uk" 01484 only reveals the above number on CET's own website. However, search for "cet uk" 1484 and you get a couple of results from one of CET's websites. The ShopLaptop FAQs have the number 01484 487926 for international customers.

A search of Internet Archive for www.cetukltd.com goes back to 2004 and a check of the registration information (whois) shows it was registered on 26 March 2003. On 20 September 2004 they were based at 9 Creative Loft and used 0870 numbers, so I think that that was the original address of the company and that they have used 0870 numbers from day one.
