Title: Sit-up TV/Bid TV/Price-Drop TV (Bid Shopping) Post by LeeUK on Oct 8th, 2006 at 7:43pm
Anyone happen to know the geo numbers that relate to bid tv's and price-drop tv's 0904 ordering numbers?
From the database I found 020 8600 9700 which is the switchboard I think. Registered Address: sit-up House 179-181 The Vale London W3 7RW Cheers :) ~ Thread title edited by Dave |

What are these 0904 numbers? The website lists the 0870 number. Quote:
Will the switchboard not put you through? Also, from this post, a number for Bid TV is 020 8338 3900. |

The 0904 numbers are the numbers you have to call to order the current on air item. Calls are charged at £1.50 per call from BT landlines.

Sounds like a legitimate use to me. The main thing is that the price is clearly shown, which is not the case for 084/087 numbers. Can you order on the website without such charges? Have you tried the number you listed in the OP, 020 8600 9700 and the one I found from the other post 020 8338 3900? The one you found from the database is on Sit-up's contact page as switchboard. |

Yes I tried them numbers but you can't order via them, they are customer service numbers which were out of office hours when I called them so no good if I wanted to order an item that was on air at 10pm.
It's no more legitimate than 0870 users. Why should we have pay £1.50 to order from them to 'save' money on high street prices. Specially when they ring you back from an 0870 number to take your credit card details. You can order via the Internet but not always pratical if you're not near the PC. |

No one is forcing you to use the service; it is your choice. The charge is clearly shown, unlike with 0870 numbers and this is the reason the Say no to 0870 website exists. If you are still looking for the numbers, the only place they will be noted is at Sit-Up TV itself and its telecommunications provider. They won't be found anywhere on the internet. |

Thanks for replies, the 0870 number is no good to me as im on vm(0870 was their old number then changed it to 0844)and the 01707 is their shop number doubt they will be able to connect to customer services which is based in india, they will just pass on the 0844 number.if i try to ring them on the 020 numbers as on the alt numbers list it just gives a option to input security details to speak to certain people,it used to put you through to head office or customer services,it seems this as been done so people like me have no alternative but to get ripped off on the 0844 number >:(

Hi and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM. I've joined your thread to the existing one for Price Drop TV and associated channels. I gather that the numbers you're referring to are 0844 811 6611 and the then unverified alternative 020 8338 3900. There are also other entries for Sit-Up TV and I have added this 0844 number to them. The 020 8338 3900 number answers the same as the verified number 020 8600 9700 which says "Head Office of Bid-Up TV & Price-Drop TV; ask for Customer services" and I have added it to this entry. It answers with an IVR (menu) requesting either an extension number (option 1) or name of a person to contact (option 2). It looks like they have changed it so that fewer calls go to the switchboard operator. I selected option 1 and then entered 0 to be put through to the operator/switchboard, but it doesn't exist. I had more success selecting option 2. You can either key in the first three letters of the person's surname or enter 0 to be put through to the switchboard. So in summary, ring 020 8600 9700, select option 2 and press 0 to be put through to the switchboard and ask for customer services. Let us know how you get on. :) |

I have also removed two other unverified entries for Sit-Up Channels:
Sit-Up TV (Bid TV/Price Drop TV/Speed Auction TV) 0870 166 6667 0844 811 6611 020 8328 2630 Delivery queries Returns queries: 020 83282632 Sit-Up TV (Bid TV/Price Drop TV/Speed Auction TV) 0870 166 6667 0844 811 6611 020 8600 9495 Fraud dep't; also for Auction Channel These three 020 numbers go through to the same IVR as the one above, requesting either extension number or name. |

Ive tried this option a number of times, when i press 0 for operator a automated voice tells me to leave a message after the tone,it does not put you through to a operator, they have deliberately done this so people have to use the 0844 no,it never used to be like this >:( |

Even if you were to get through using this method, there is no certainty that customer services are based at that location. The contact address quoted in Sit-Up's terms of use is a PO Box: Customer Services PO Box 6580 Northampton NN4 5WL It's a PO Box, so the post code will probably not resolve to the specific location they are based on a map. You could get through to customer services on all the numbers listed on this site, some of the numbers gave you a option to connect to customer services which are based in india,or the switchboard/head office based in london who would transfer your call, but now sit up have changed the options on these 020 numbers and you can no longer get in touch with customer services,i have emailed sit up and would like to email their ceo ian percivil but cannot find a email adress, surely there must be another way to avoid using the dreaded 0844 number?? |

Try the 020 number another day, selecting option 2 then press 0 for operator. They may have changed it to automate the main enquiries number, so that far less calls need be taken by the live operator, putting calls through to people within the company. Perhaps the switchboard operator was busy at that time, hence why you got the voicemail. I have had a quick Google for e-mail address formats at Sit-Up. There are a few pages giving firstname.lastname@sit-up.tv. Alternatively, if you use the automated phone book (option 2 on 020 8600 9700), it gives their extension numbers so you can speak to them. ;) Ian Percival, Chief Executive, x7412 Clive Bradshaw, Director of Information Systems, x7405 |

It's very possible that there will be an extension number that is actually a ringgroup for customer services. Unfortunately, it could be pretty much anything ... Might be worth trying different extension numbers, starting with 7400 and 7000 to see where they go, though.

I have tried on numerous occasions on diffrent days/times and its always voicemail,i emailed sit up earlier regarding the use of 0844 numbers and their changing the 020 so we cannot get through to customer services and got a automated responce which said i will hear something soon, but nothing yet as being received. I have just emailed ian percivil regarding this issue,as i feel its unfair of the company to make customers use 0844 numbers as a form of revenue for the company. |

I called 020 8600 9700 and selected option 2 which is to enter a person's name or press 0 for the operator, which I did. After a short period of silence, it asked me to leave a message for the operator. If this number is to be proven to work (or disproven to work) then a call during office hours will be needed. |

That's probably because it goes through to the office switchboard. So it's hardly surprising therefore that there should be no one to answer the switchboard when (I assume) that there is no one in the office to put calls through to as it was a Saturday afternoon! tom25 wrote on Nov 12th, 2011 at 8:08pm:
I'm not sure what difference any answer to such a question makes. And I cannot see how such a question can be answered unless the alternative is known. The long and short of it is that we don't know of any alternative at the moment. |
