They have just increased it to 6p peak/evenings,its still 2p weekends. Connection charge 4p. Minute bill. Less competitive for short calls now.

But it's not all bad news ...

Apparently rates for calling from mobiles and non-BT landlines, ie via the 08081 or 020 numbers, have dropped to the same 6p/min, from 10p/min

That makes DiscountDial, PhoneCheap and 0844calls one pence per minute cheaper! (according to http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/ukcallchecker/index.php)

RDD.

Also noted the 10p per minute quoted by 18185 today on their site when checking all other rates against 1899 before closing my 1899 account in disgust at their 3p to 4p per uk landline call price rise.   I can't check whether this 10p rate is true though until Monday as they are currently announcing the weekend mobile rate of 2p per minute when I dial my mobile number.

But isn't 4p/call still the cheapest daytime local/national call rate (excluding packages with included calls)?  I guess you could use 18185, but they're basically the same company and they also charge 4p/call.

18185s mobile and international rates are all cheaper than 1899.  So why continue to run two accounts with Finarea when one will now do.

Also their marketing boys will be counting the number of customers lost at 1899 due to their 33% price hike.

18185's website has been corrected.

Weekday calls to UK mobiles via the 18185 prefix are again shown at 6p/minute (weekdays) and via the 0808 or 020 access numbers are again shown at 10p/minute (weekdays).

Perhaps they do read some of their customer feedback after all then? ;)
